The problem with AI is the learning curve.
We learn by trial and error / rationalization, etc.
AI learns by algarithms (or however it’s spelled).
The conclusions are / can be fundamentally different.
And therefore we can not give AI decision making powers.
I don't think knowledge is the issue, I think it is the wisdom on how to apply knowledge that is the problem. Essentially you are creating an ever expanding intelligence that does not have the ability to empathize with human beings.
So let's say you feed the AI the notion that human beings are destroying the planet via carbon emissions. What will they do to us?
And I'm sure you have seen the movie 2001 with the psychotic AI computer HAL. Of course, HAL is only psychotic to us.
And lastly, there is the issue of mass unemployment. What if AI replaces everyone in their jobs? Not only will you have mass unemployment, you will have a docile and dependent society based on AI.

Yes EVERYONE does.
So why do you keep posting this redundant piece of "information"?
You think you are smart or something?

Arkwright's mule

All of those were criticised for causing mass unemployment.
You want to go back to waeving by hand?
Care to undo that intricate web?
What about the creation of WMD's?
For the sake of argument, let's say that the creation of AI is "bad".
You then read this:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-switch/wp/2016/10/13/china-has-now-eclipsed-us-in-ai-research/?noredirect=on
So if China is well ahead of the US in AI, would it seem reasonable to pursue it even though you knew it was bad, just to keep up with your adversary?
It is akin to the arms race.

At this moment: tomatoes, pears, apples, beans (God only knows what sort... well, my wife does, but she ain’t talkin’ ), cucumbers, radishy things, lettuce and what I think are potatoes.
That’s a free lunch, isn’t it?

It's a well known saying that's used to show no-one's being fooled by the attempt to sell something as free that you have to pay for anyway. There's a story behind it, google it, basically two guys are out looking for a beer when they see a sign "Free lunch with every beer bought" Wow that's great right, problem is when they pay for the beer it costs 5 times the normal price. It's so well known that people recognise the acronym TANSTAAFL even if it's pronounced as a word. It's more recognisable than LOLWGURANIDJIT
So if you can somehow apply that to your veges, not sure how you're going to work that one. Who is trying to pass your veges off as free even though you have to pay, as is the case with state mandated UHC.
But if you'd like to explore the veges analogy a bit more in relation to UHC. It would go a bit like this. Some guy, let's call him Kaka Notion (You can abreviate that if you like) doesn't like what you're doing with your vege patch. So Kaka Notion sends some goobermint thugs over to bully you into handing over some of your vege, They keep some of the vege for themselves, need to feed the buratcracy right, they give some of them away and when you ask for some back they put you on a waiting list until the vege is rancid and putrid before giving what's left back to you.
BTW given your recent behavior here your attempts at self-deprecating humor are lame, false and empty. Drop it.

According to this article, the biggest threat to mankind is not something like global warming, not even Trump.
No, the biggest threat is artificial intelligence.
That carried with it all the risks.
And the fears were founded.
The wheel played an integral role in almost every war humans engaged in.
Today, we have AI, with all its risks of "terminator" scenarios.
But it is a measure of progress (synonymous with progressive).
And that is the fear that some people carry with them.
Fear of progressive thought.
And religion falls further and further behind.
(Just thought I'd toss that in) 😛

Alrighty then!

Alrighty then!
But the science that led to WMD's has also reaped much benefit.
Risk/benefit in almost everything we do as a species.
That was my original point.
As to global warming, I would say we do have an impact.
But we are not the sole cause of climate change.
Typing this post from a location that has been under a thick sheet of ice at least 4 times in the last million years.
I am not skeptical about the science.
I am at times skeptical about the solution.
This is because climate change has become politicized over time.
