Is "cancel culture" a legitimate phenomena or is just a complaint from people whining about losing positions from irresponsible comments?

Those who complain about 'cancel culture' are the same people who freaked out about D and D being Satanic.

I think it's quite real. They can screw Uncle Ben's rice into oblivion, and the reason why is...?

The CC is an econo-terrorist organization, IMO.

First of all, nobody screwed uncle ben's anywhere, you're talking out of your ass. Secondly , if you feel some way about other people exercising their right to not buy something, go offset them by buying a truckload of uncle ben.

You're hilarious. And dumb. Mostly dumb

It's a phenomenon present since the dawn of time but we now invented a term for when it's done by people we don't agree with against stuff we like ourselves.

I think there was a time when someone verbally expressed their disagreement with another ideas. Then one could discuss the situation and after a discussion, one could take action.

Now we have groups who decide that they don't like something (such as a picture in a Dr. Suess book or a comment by JK Rowlings) and they decide that the person is fundamentally offensive and we should boycott all they ever created.

There is a big difference between the two reactions and the second which might be called cancel culture is often a shallow minded non productive over reaction.

Well in the case of the good doctor, only his first 6 books were so treated.
Has anyone here actually seen the pages in contention? I haven't.

It happens here all the time. I was banned from posting on this website for a month or so for creating threads that questioned the safety of vaccines. Shav, no1 and kazet have led this effort to censor me and still do. Most do it because they were losing the debate, but others simply didn't like me pointing out things that would lead others to question vaccine safety. Some openly called me dangerous for it.

They cannot silence me, but they try. They can't help but be Nazis. I might change people's minds. I'm a threat to conformity.

Duchess demonstrates her embracement of cancel culture. Then demonstrates her hypocrisy and psychological projection.

Duchess has embraced a fanatical conspiracy theory that Russia conspired with Trump to steal the election from HRC. I'm the problem though. LOL!

If I wasn't capable of changing people's minds I would not be perceived as a threat and targeted for censorship. If they were capable of proving me wrong they would do that and have no need to cry like babies begging the moderator to censor me. Pretty obvious to those without bruised egos.
