Now you are saying that the roadways are racial. Is it just a signal to appear thoughtful and Woke? What would you do with it? The roads. Rebuild? Do you want to rebuild the whole country, is that the plan? The country is broken, so tear it all the way down and rebuild it? Mass transit on the drawing board, as you fellers are into dense populations (easier to group! and to control elections!).
Is today's news correct, that highways are racist? Try to string a few meaningful sentences together.
@contenchess saidI'm just guessing, but I believe Joe is referring to the link below.

In his plan to improve America's infrastructure, President Biden is promising to address the racism ingrained in historical transportation and urban planning. Biden's plan includes $20 billion for a program that would "reconnect neighborhoods cut off by historic investments," according to the White House. It also looks to target "40 percent of the benefits of climate and clean infrastructure investments to disadvantaged communities." Planners of the interstate highway system, which began to take shape after the Federal Aid Highway Act of 1956, routed some highways directly, and sometimes purposefully, through Black and brown communities. In some instances, the government took homes by eminent domain.
Though I'm a Liberal, I'll admit the left wing does belabor the race issue a bit. To answer Joe's question - No, everything is not racist. If you read the plans details though, you'll find there is some truth to it.
This infrastructure bill will provide millions of good paying domestic jobs, repairing and/or replacing many of America's crumbling roads, bridges, electric grids and promoting high speed rail, as well as clean, renewable energy. It's sad to think that if Donald Trump were promoting this idea as President, most of the GOP lawmakers that are fighting against this, would be calling it a wise and necessary investment in America's future.

It's a documented fact that Robert Moses designed low tunnels to block inner city buses access to the beaches...He also bulldozed mostly poor neighborhoods to build his highways.

So designs from 100 years ago are our fault 🙄
Classic blame modern whites syndrome 🙄
I've always been against highways causing towns and neighborhoods to fail...
I traveled across the USA and seen the ghost towns caused from these highways and byways.
Anything new should benefit all communities old and new.

At the risk of nit picking, these are the designs of 65 years ago, not 100. The infrastructure bill will solve 2 problems at the same time. Let's try to focus on the positive aspects of this, and dial the paranoia level down a few notches, shall we? 🙂
@averagejoe1 saidAbsolutely highways are racist.

Just look at it, you have a mainly black surface that takes all the load, and you have white lines painted over the top, that controls the movement of everything. Its a racists wet dream!!!
