@Duchess64
In other words, you screwed up, got caught, won't admit it, and you place blame on EoT to deflect.
what a woman. what a backbone.

The post that was quoted here has been removedIt will surely factor in that the US Senate has only had two black women as Senators in its history and will only have two blacks in the Senate once she becomes Vice-President. https://www.senate.gov/pagelayout/history/h_multi_sections_and_teasers/Photo_Exhibit_African_American_Senators.htm
It will also surely be a factor than no Hispanic has ever been a US Senator from California. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/latino/latinos-california-press-governor-pick-hispanic-possible-u-s-senate-n1237676
That state's population is now approximately 40% Hispanic.
We'll hear the predictable "pick the best qualified" yapping, but the truth is that many figures in California of all different ethnic, gender and other backgrounds are perfectly qualified to be a US Senator. So IMO it is quite reasonable to address the issues of historical underrepresentation of certain groups when selecting a replacement for Harris. That person would have to stand for re-election in two years anyway and while a Democrat would be a heavy favorite in California there would be nothing stopping Democrats who believe they are "more qualified" from challenging the appointed Senator in a primary.
The post that was quoted here has been removedSo you are wrong; Hayakawa wasn't the only Asian-American Senator from California.
Your complaining about Harris not presenting herself as Asian-American enough for your taste has been and continues to be tiresome.
There are currently 3 Asian-American women in the US Senate; Hirono from Hawaii, Duckworth from Illinois and Harris.

The post that was quoted here has been removedObviously if Newsom is primarily influenced by California's present demographics + diversity concerns, he'll pick a Hispanic since they are 40% of California's population but none have ever been a US Senator from that State.
Conversely if he is primarily influenced by national issues of diversity + historical racism, he'll pick a black woman since none will remain in the Senate.
Or he may choose to pick someone regardless of such concerns.

@vivify saidyou know you don't actually have to respond to her, right? If you do respond to her, you have nobody to blame but yourself if you get upset about it.
So this thread went from a discussion of possible Harris replacements to being infected with Duchess' diatribes.
I mostly only read about a quarter from each of her posts and i seldom respond. I live a more peaceful life as a result.

@Duchess64 - Before long, almost 20% of California's population will be Asian / Pacific islander (API).

amazing.
I wonder how many of those will be trans identity-82? 🤔

Guess I should've known better.
