alcohol kills more people than any other drug; even people who never drink alcohol. it destroys your liver and your brain, and you can die from consuming too much of it; just like any other drug but it is downplayed for some reason; "it is only alcohol, its not a drug". if alcohol kills more people than any other drug, in my eyes it is the worst. so wh ...[text shortened]... are irresponsible and had a chance with alcohol and people are still dying; so take it away.

We're a species which (like all of the higher apes) seeks to expand our experiential or mental horizons through drug use.
If it's not alcohol, it's tea or coffee, if not them, cigarettes, adventure sports, and excessive amounts of sex or masturbation.

Drugs aren't "miracle" potions. Once you tried, you're hooked. Nonsense.
It's also a character thing. If you're a trouble shooter with drugs, you'll probably do so as well with alcohol or tabacco.
All the other drugs can be obtained just as easily as alcohol. How do you tend to stop /control the cocaine and heroine streams ??
NOT! Too much money involved...
"Legalising" is the only way to control it.

Not necessarily. I've done meth a few times. I've had fairly easy access to it for quite a while. I chose not to use it for the most part except once in a while.

I do not doubt that that it would be fewer since it would be unreasonable to think that everyone who is in prison now on drug charges would be there if drugs were legal and cheaper. On the otherhand, the proposed policy demands that the gov't "tax the hell" out of the drugs. While I still think the price of many drugs would fall, the price may remain proh ...[text shortened]... poverty in later life, then this should be considered before lifting the ban on drugs.

yeah but sometimes what you put in your body makes others suffer like everyone who is dying in car wrecks because of drunk drivers
The criminal action here is DUI, not just drinking.
