Just listen to the news.
Astronomical.
Unprecedented.
Terrifying.
Severe.
Blah blah blah.
I get it. It's a big storm. But it's gonna make landfall as a tropical storm or maybe a Cat 1. This is not Katrina here, folks. We're gonna get a lot of wind and ...[text shortened]... e to the beach tonight, you'll be fine.
Geez. Can these clowns get any more hysterical?[/b]
"I have not been around long enough to see a hurricane forecast with a snow advisory in it," Fugate told NBC's "Today" show.
Neither have I.

Originally posted by sh76It gets on my tits, I tell ya. I went to the gym last night, which is in the Philadelphia region and is normally open 24/7, but I could only stay for 7 minutes because the place was closing at 10:00 PM! Closing at 10 PM on Sunday for a storm that isn't even going to make landfall 100 miles away in the wee hours of Tuesday! Even now, 18 hours later, there's only a slight breeze outside. It's hysterical.

There are people at freerepublic.com who are claiming that Obama's exploitation of this storm for his own political gain has been the worst in living memory. Is it so?
Thankfully, between excellent preparation and a populace that generally took the warnings seriously, loss of life appears to have been very low. There was really not a tremendous need for federal intervention. I would like to commend both NYC Mayor Bloomberg and NJ Governor Christie for excellent handling of the storm.
The real federal role will be in clean-up money, but that won't be completed for months.

How'd it go last night sh?
Originally posted by SleepyguyThe winds were very strong but there was an incredible lack of rain. I doubt we got one inch of rain through the entire storm. The winds did knock out power to 2/3 of the people serviced by my electricity provider. But for some reason, I was one of the lucky ones who were spared. Of all my relatives and friends I spoke to last night in the area, I'm the only one who never lost power.
Thanks, Chris. 😉
