It's generational.

Look at how MLK dressed, the way all his people dressed, his wife wearing a dress etc.
that's how people were in those days, self respecting. didn't matter whether you were black or white.

In 1968 , there was plenty of crime, murder, drugs prostitution, laziness among Blacks. That's what MLK was trying to change.
