@Philokalia
In other words, Phil, we should hold onto our ass.
We all knew why the libs/progs wan a gun grab anyway :-)
@philokalia saidYes.
Two different parties are actually addressed in Morson's essay:
- Liberals (which this quote is about, who tended to carry water for )
- Radicals
Look at the liberal mayors of Portland and Seattle. they coddle the domestic terrorists.
And look at the liberals in here refer to the domestic terrorists as "Peaceful Protesters"

@philokalia saidSeriously your a czarist ?😂😂 oh yeah of course the orthodox thing.
What would be some examples of the excesses and tyrannical behavior of the current Tsar at that time or his predecessor?
What does it mean that Tsar Nicholas II was ready to accept all of the demands of the liberals, and eventually abdicated..?
Honestly, I am curious to know more about the topic and I would love to have more rounded out understanding. I believe I can get that from your contributions to the thread.
If you think there is an onus on me to prove that the Russian czarist system was one of the cruelest most despicable autocratic regimes ever to blight human existence then you are sadly mistaken.
It’s a known known and your a liar for denying it.
Right wing fascism is the only threat to western democracy today and that’s also a known known.

@kevcvs57 saidFace mask complaint. Why isn't everyone upset that, while Trump has accomplished one of the greatest feats in history, having the Abraham accord, the declaration of peace signed today, which is the dawn of a new middle east, Donald Trump was not wearing face mask?

Two distant non-belligerent states recognising Israel!
What's the big deal?
And the Israeli side of the deal is just complying with a UN resolution isn't it?
I haven't seen the detail so I'd be pleased for you to tell me more.

@earl-of-trumps saidI fully agree with that.

We will know more about the timeframe for this after the 2020 election.
If it is Pres. Trump for another 4 years, there may be some significant structural changes that will help us out a lot -- such as, a more conservative SCOTUS -- but it may really just be a matter of time.
Feel bad for all the people under 50 -- I think over 50s will not have their retirement completely ruined by the events about to unfold, provided they are willing to relocate to the countryside or a gated community...
But under 50s? What future can they really expect? We'll see.

@kevcvs57 saidI would not say that I am a Tsarist. I am not a Russian and this context is foreign to me.

I was honestly curious if you could provide us some evidence that the Tsar was akin to the murderous Bolsheviks who took his place.
The thing is, y ou can't, because the Communists were the worst butchers of the 20th century.
@philokalia saidIt’s a known known as I’ve said. you’ll be wanting me to prove the existence of Nazi death camps and the Khmer Rouge death farms next.

No you’ve firmly nailed your colours to the crypto fascist mast.
I repeat the only threat to western democracy is fascism and Trump is their current poster boy of convenience.

@kevcvs57 saidOK, I am forced to conclude that you do not know much at all about the state of Russia in the early 20th and late 19th century, and cannot offer us much input as to how this society was.

You have no real argument as to why the Bolsheviks were not uniquely bad for Russia.
Maybe yuo are even a Communist sympathizer. Of course, that is your right. But, communism is bad, nnnkay?

@philokalia saidConclude away Mr Disingenuous. But we both know the truth about the Czarist regime.

@philokalia saidI like the way you slip in "for that time"!
How was it exceptionally violent for that time?
Didn't give the same caveat for the Bolsheviks though ...

@wolfgang59 saidBecause the Bolsheviks were obviously exceptionally violent for their time.

No caveat necessary.
