Seems consensus has been reached: Barack is "tired." No consensus on reason for his condition.
BARACK OBAMA `TOO TIRED` TO GIVE PROPER WELCOME TO GORDON BROWN

Barack Obama's offhand approach to Gordon Brown's Washington visit last week came about because the president was facing exhaustion over America's economic crisis and is unable to focus on foreign affairs, the Sunday Telegraph has been told.
Sources close to the White House say Mr Obama and his staff have been "overwhelmed" by the economic meltdown and have voiced concerns that the new president is not getting enough rest.
'THIS PARTY ATMOSPHERE SENDS THE WRONG MESSAGE'

"Barack and Michelle Obama have been throwing taxpayer funded parties nearly every night with their 'friends' and supporters, with Michelle Obama even exhorting them not to 'break' White House property,"
"This is a pretty big house, so we get lonely," the report said Obama announced. "It's hard for me to move around out there some times so I got to bring the world to me." "Since moving into their new digs, the first couple has hosted ... *snip ... ending many of their days past midnight," the report said.
The report quoted White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers saying the Obamas want to "replicate the same kind of environment they had in Chicago." "If there was a party or an event [in Chicago], they were there," the report quoted "a friend" saying.
Insiders said in the report that the Obama social schedule is busier than any other previous occupants of the White House.

You must really enjoy complaining.

"British officials, admit that the White House and US State Department staff were utterly bemused by complaints the Prime Minister should have been granted full-blown press conference and a formal dinner, as has been customary. Obama aides seemed unfamiliar with the expectations that surround a major visit by a British prime minister."
"Mr Brown handed over carefully selected gifts, including a pen holder made from the wood of a warship that helped stamp out the slave trade - a sister ship of the vessel from which timbers were taken to build Mr Obama's Oval Office desk. Mr Obama's gift in return, a collection of Hollywood film DVDs that could have been bought from any high street store."
"The real views of many in Obama administration were laid bare by a US State Department official involved in planning the Brown visit, who reacted with fury when questioned. The official dismissed any notion of the special relationship, saying: "There's nothing special about Britain. You're just the same as the other 190 countries in the world."

A hearty guffaw at the carefully selected gifts.

It appears the The Telegraph – Iain Martin didn’t get that “laudatory coverage only” memo from the White House. The President and everyone around him were sliced and diced by The Telegraph last week. Extremely amusing! 😀
The paper’s latest article starts off by reviewing all the president’s gaffes – his poorly thought out choice of gifts, his insulting return of the Churchill bust, and his hastily prepared joint press conference with Gordon Brown. Then things got really nasty:
“Something, suddenly, seems to have made the Obama White House perk up and start to take an interest in the Brits. The Queen has invited the President to tea when he’s here for the G20 in April. And he’s in through the front door of Buckingham Palace faster than a Harley Davidson roaring along Route 66.”
“Note how the coolness of Team Obama disappears when a bit of regal glamour is introduced into the equation. He might not like the Brits, but he can recognise a global superstar when he encounters one. He wants to be associated with her. He’s shameless.”
“If Obama, or someone in his inner circle, had spent two minutes thinking about what present to get Brown then they could easily have come up with something appropriate. He likes books. He loves American history. Get him a signed first edition of a good Robert Dallek book such as the brilliant Flawed Giant on LBJ. Come to think of it, Obama should read it too, as it reveals a great deal about how a Presidency can go so wrong.”
We’re surprised Obama didn’t schedule tea and crumpets with Prince Charles since they have so much in common: They both have two kids. Both believe in global warming; yet whip around the world in private jets. And both have domineering wives who make them jump through hoops like trained Chihuahuas. 😛

Actually, they seem more like afterthoughts, but the word ghetto will do a better job of spinning up the transies.
