A Muslim Indian seminary which is said to have inspired the Taliban has issued a fatwa against terrorism, insisting that Islam is a religion of peace.

Senior clerics from the 150-year-old Darul Uloom Deoband issued the edict saying they wished to wipe out terrorism. "Islam rejects all kinds of unjust violence, breach of peace, bloodshed, murder and /muslim-seminary-issues-fatwa-against-terrorism-838162.html

How important is this news?
In your opinion, what was the catalyste for this fatwa? Also, what took so long?

What I'm saying is that these people aren't the ones in refugee camps or suffering starvation. It's easy to condemn things when you actually don't have much to do with it.

And don't start on the: "Oh they're the key force behind... blah blah blah", we all know that leaders are very quick to send the poor to their death and feast on the spoils.
"It's easy to condemn things when you actually don't have much to do with it." said Shav, as he condemned the fatwah. 🙄

Interesting bit of trite wordplay, ATY. Repeating the word 'condemn' like that. I've read all shav's posts and I get the distinct impression he isn't really condemning the fatwah: instead he's just saying it is an empty irrelevance... here's a sampling of the thrust of his argument: I say it's rhetorical rubbish. It's utter crap. Useless rhetoric to gain support for other matters. Nothing more and nothing less. Won't serve any purpose, what so ever. Shav appears to be saying 'What is there to condemn? It's meaningless. Ignore it!' Try this (it's a tad more honest I think):

"It's easy to condemn things when you actually don't have much to do with it." said Shav, as he dismissed the fatwah out of hand.

don't you need an adverb to make it a Tom Swiftie?

I'm trying, but I can't find a good adverb for this. Condemn doesn't seem to have an adverb form of any kind.

I'd never heard of a Tom Swiftly before this.

Ahem, "whatsoever" is one word, and if it ain't it should be. Just trying to help.
