@contenchess saidHe doesn't have full ownership of his songs. Blackstone owns at least half. One could argue he didn't have the right to pull them in the first place. He is also a corporate sellout.
...after all that posturing and trying to silence someone's free speech...
Neil Young has returned to Spotify.
I guess money is more important than his principles 😄

@metal-brain saidHow is it that you get the same data as everyone else, but you have to come up with some whack-a-doodle theory about it?

"The publishing share Hipgnosis has in my copyrights is in the Hipgnosis Songs Fund that is publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange.
The Blackstone investment went into a separate Hipgnosis Private Fund and none of that money was used for the Hipgnosis Songs Fund."

Well, Rogan’s the one grovelling and apologising… so, I would guess that the tactic worked.
I tried watching one of Rogan’s shows on youtube. Unbearably dull.
And he’s got that freak-boy from England (Russel Brand) on youtube muppetting away for him about all sorts of conspiracies.
I stumbled upon one of his podcasts and now his obnoxious face is stuck in my bloody bubble (or whatever the hell it’s called).
Good grief. What a life!
Oh, woe is me!

@mott-the-hoople saidHey, moron, name one (just ONE! ) white person who has ever had their free speech stifled in America.
you folks go to great lengths to stifle free speech.
Go ahead, we'll wait.
All you white boys SO afraid you'll lose your rights or worse yet, your FREEDOM(!!!!). You're not losing anything, no matter what kind of fear the Republican Party tries to force-feed you. What a bunch of paranoid idiots.
Meanwhile, lawmakers in red states all over America are pulling out all the stops to make it more difficult for PoC to vote. All you guys just suck.
@suzianne saiduhhh…lets start with Rogan.

@mott-the-hoople saidYou're quick to call people morally repugnant, and yet you support morally repugnant people as long as they fall on your side of politics and represent your bigotry.

The truth is; Neil Young took a principled stand,
Joe Rogan ran to cash the check...
Once again, we have 'the artist,' vs 'the hustler.'
Fifty years from now, no one will recall the hustler,
but we will still be smiling as we sing Mr. Young's songs/
@mott-the-hoople saidNo, he was trying to distance himself from Rogan's toxicity. Defending his own reputation, rather than attacking Rogan.

It is telling about your lack of a moral compass that you cannot tell the difference. You seem to believe that freedom of speech also means freedom from being spoken about. But Young has as much of a right to speak about Rogan as Rogan has to speak about horse medicine.
@mott-the-hoople saidNo he was making a honourable protest that was alway going cost him financially, in short he was exercising his freedom of speech by withdrawing his labour and products from a platform whose editorial stance he disagreed with.
