i have just been informed that I am eligible to vote in the next general election,Its strange that I found out ,the government dont make a point of informing irish nationals living here that I have the right to Vote, I must say I will enjoy voting for the first time ever,I missed the local elections because I failed to get on the electoral register.

This perpetrates the two party seesaw we see in the UK, the US, NZ, Aus and other places.

The main motivator that drives people to the polls is not to vote for something, it's to get the current mob out. So without thinking too much about it, they vote for a party mere inches to the left or right of the current one, the party they think has the greatest chance of clawing it's way in. The two main parties know this, you're playing their game, there's a long record of one or two terms left, then one or two terms right, then...

The illusion of democracy. The two main parties in each of the countries mentioned are so close to being the same animal your vote means virtually nothing. And it's all a distraction for the real agenda, the agenda of all goobermint parasitical bureaurats - control.

So who is the candidate the UK establishment wants in office that most irish nationals will vote for?

Right, that is why they prefer the 2 party system they maintain and keep most elections close in the polls. People don't vote so much to support candidates as they do to oppose candidates. Another reason for maintaining a 2 party system in the USA is to discourage 3rd party voting. If people think their favorite major party candidate will lose without a chance they will be more likely to vote for candidates that have an even lesser chance of winning. That would give 3rd parties a better chance. Can't have that.
