I know some of you Americans tend to forget that there is a world beyond your borders but over here in Europe we have our own basket of troubles to deal with.

The German coalition Government has essentially collapsed this last week due to there being no money left in the jar. One side wants to change constitutional borrowing rules to send more money to Ukraine and other things, and the others don’t. There is also an increasing sense of unease at the rise of the right wing AFD (Alternative for Germany) party who’s rise has been fuelled largely by the problems associated with mass immigration (yes that old chestnut). There are calls to have the AFD banned but that will be fuel on the fire and will take time if it does get attempted.

Without a majority the broken coalition group can’t anything meaningful passed and there are some big calls coming up. The budget for example and other EU stuff. Elections are not due until next summer so it looks like a snap vote will be called in January.

Germany engulfed by political crisis as Scholz coalition falls apart:

No it isn’t. The billionaires and the abject poverty of today were caused by right wing tax cuts.

Inability to shelter oneself, eating food provided by charity, exposed to violence and diseases that are normally easy to control by avoiding sick people but because of homelessness and anti loitering laws they are concentrated together and germs spread easily.

Yes I know there are people worse off in the world but the USA has this idea that it is better than South Sudan. We are not interested in attaining equal levels of poverty as the most wretched places on Earth.

When I said "what exactly", I meant what is the $$$ income that people are considered poor or like in your expression, 'abject poverty'. Is there such a thing as the poverty line in the US? If so what is it?

I don’t know. You can look up those numbers yourself if you want. When I used the phrase I meant what I just said I meant.

So using your expression and description, do those people you describe pay taxes?

Other than sales taxes, no.

So how did the right wing tax cuts cause abject poverty?

Because the billionaires are using government muscle to compete with the poor for resources and are not paying for these services with taxes.

If the Right can manage it they will start taxing the poor with a flat tax on top of this.

Trump wants to increase taxes on all income below $360,000 per year and drastically cut taxes above that.
