Many women prefer jobs where you get to talk to people. Jobs dominated by women are:
Preschool and Kindergarten teachers - 99%
Medical records specialist -96%
Childcare workers - 95%
Speech pathologists - 94%
Dental Hygienists - 94%
Skincare specialist - 94%
Admin support - 93%
Dietitian - 91%
Hairdresser - 90%
Nurse - 90%
Many men on the other hand prefer jobs where you interact with things or tools:
Bricklayer -99%
mechanic - 99%
Crane operator - 99%
Electrical power line worker - 98%
HVAC installer -98%
Plumber - 97%
Pest Control - 97%
Cement mason - 97%
Electrician - 96%
Carpenter - 96%
Roofer - 96%
So to have true gender equality, how do we get more women to be electrical power line installers that go out at 3 in the morning during a snow storm to restore power back to people's homes? Do you know any women who would do that job?
Or how do we convince the male bricklayer to be a skincare specialist instead? Do you know any bricklayers that would do that job?
How do we get to equality if we can't get gender parity in all professions? Or do we just accept that there are differences between men and women and the choices they make in their lives?

Women outnumber men in psychology, but not in the field's top echelons
A new APA report recommends ways to boost women's status and pay
https://www.apa.org/monitor/2017/07-08/women-psychology
In 2014, the APA reported there were more women in post graduate psychology programs than men by a significant margin (75% - 25% ). But there still exists a glass ceiling, where the minority of men in the field, on average, are paid more than their women counterparts.
@uzless saidThere is no such thing as gender equality. The notion is as stupid as the one promoted by PETA and some vegans who believe that animals should have rights and/or be treated the same as humans ie not killed and used for food. There are a couple of foolish women on this site promoting this ridiculous idea which clearly was not well thought out. Men and women are made up differently and it is impossible to establish a baseline for equality. Men and women compliment each other. The problem is that feminism [the toxic version], has put unnatural ideas into the heads of these females whose lives are not fulfulled.

@uzless saidEquality is about the freedom to pursue a particular outcome.

There may not be ever be as many men seeking to be skin-care specialists but do they have the freedom to at least pursue this without discrimination? Same for women who want to be engineers, cops, etc.
@vivify saidIn which field are women not free to pursue without discrimination?

@Suzianne saidwhy are you only focused on the highest paying jobs since we're talking about equality here. Let's address the issue posed shall we?

Why can't we get women to stop choosing jobs were you talk to people (like psychology as you noted) and start choosing to take jobs where you deal with tools instead and vice versa for men?
But if you insist on posting articles about the gap in pay consider the following truth...The older you are the more money you generally make and the higher ranking position you hold. With that in mind, even just a BASIC google search can tell you the following:
More young women have been entering the psychology workforce. The percent of psychologists who are women increased from 57 percent in 2007 to 65 percent in 2016. Within the psychology workforce, the mean age for women (47.6 years) was almost seven years younger than the mean age for men (54.4 years)
@uzless saidAgain, thank you, Captain Obvious.

My post was focused on jobs in the psychology sector, since it is my chosen field and was not mentioned in the OP.
Perhaps you meant to reply to the OP?
@vivify saidThe Equity folks would disagree with you. Where i work we have active programs mandating the hiring of more women because the equity folks believe that every company should have the same amount of women and men working at the company and that EVERY level of job position from the janitors right up to the CEO should be 50/50 women vs men.

So, how do you do that in the professions where there is a clear gender preference for those jobs? The equity folks seem to ignore these facts that women prefer jobs where they interact with people and men prefer jobs where they interact with things/tools.

@Rajk999 saidOh, please.
In which field are women not free to pursue without discrimination?
Of ANYone here, I'm sure you're familiar with discrimination, since you wield it like a weapon.
Women are paid less than men in EVERY profession, except for those in government where Federal law prohibits discrimination with regard to race, age or gender. This is why women flock to government positions, since they are guaranteed by law to be paid the same as men.

@Suzianne saidprovide some credible stats with source that also ADJUST THE INCOME LEVEL by AGE and i'll consider it.

Also, i'd like to see you point out where i've discriminated against anyone in any of my posts. You might want to get a bucket of water because it looks like your pants are on fire.
