This is for the people who say they voted for her after Biden selected her to be his veep. You didn't vote for Kamala when you voted for Biden. It is not as if Biden could not have won without her. He could have picked anybody and democrats would still have voted for him.
Even when she was VP few people liked her. Her poll numbers sucked and the corporate news media will not talk about it. If you are waiting for Steve K%rnacki to compare her poll numbers as VP to now don't hold your breath.
Nobody voted for Kamala. And when people vote for her for the first time in a few days it will probably be more of a vote against Trump. That was probably the case with Biden 4 years ago.
The truth is that any democrat could get the poll numbers that Kamala is getting now because any democrat is better than Trump in the eyes of democrats....even if she was never elected which is undemocratic.
So democrats hated Trump enough to surrender democracy in their own political party and accept their primary being stolen from them. Yet they still insist Trump is going to end democracy. Sonhouse will tell you that.
Why can't people with political bias escape double think? Complaining about a conspiracy theory that Trump will steal democracy after the DNC stole their democracy is illogical. Do they know it is illogical and don't care or are they genuinely in denial of something so obvious a child would notice?
@Metal-Brain saidWeirdo.

@Metal-Brain
In fact the numbers took a jump after Biden declared not to run again. Does that contradict your thesis?
@Ponderable saidNo. It supports my thesis. Not to say generous media attention for her did not help, but any democrat would have gotten an instant poll number increase. Especially considering Biden's cognitive issues. How could democrats not support her? They were just relieved Biden was out so they could support.......anybody but Biden!

Democrats do not like Kamala as much as they pretend to. They never liked her very much. They rejected her from the 2020 primary election and would have done the same if they had a choice of someone else in the last primary election. That is why she had to be selected.
Kamala's political rise was by a series of selections. Willie Brown appointed her to two political posts: the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board, and later the Medical Assistance Commission. Selected to be VP by Biden and selected to be the democrat party nominee for POTUS.
@Metal-Brain saidShe was also elected as Senator.

Half of all U.S. states have a deadline of August for a party nominee to be certified for the general election. Biden dropped out near the end of the July.
Having another primary simply wasn't feasible for an August deadline.
Keep in mind: both parties have last-minute replacement rules. If the July assassination attempt on Trump resulted in death, Republicans would've had similar emergency measures to replace a party candidate that wouldn't have included another nationwide primary due to the approaching deadline.
Things happen; sickness, death, mental decline, etc. Both parties need to be prepared to replace their nominee, and it can't always be in time for another primary.

@vivify saidNobody says climate change is a hoax. Man causing it is the hoax.
You have science deniers who believe climate change is a hoax and Jewish space lasers.
Why is it that the US military is never a priority for action if man is really the cause?
Why are you alarmists letting the world's biggest CO2 emitter off the hook?
Because alarmists don't really believe CO2 is a problem.
@Metal-Brain saidBecause running general elections in the 3rd most populated nation on earth takes time to prepare for. States have to get all their relevant procedures and documentation for voting in order.
@vivify
"Half of all U.S. states have a deadline of August for a party nominee to be certified for the general election"
Why? To make it easier to deny an election and select a candidate?
They have to print *millions* of ballots with the correct candidate's name on it, which then have to shipped to each election site in each county in the state; and that's not even counting mail-in ballots, absentee ballots, etc.
Your partisan rant accusing Dems of subverting democracy is based on ignorance of this obvious fact.

None of this matters, though. The point is that half of states, for whatever reason, have August deadlines to certify nominees for the general election. Both parties have procedures to replace their nominee if they need to do so when there's not enough time left for another primary.
Biden dropping out near the end of July didn't leave enough time for a nationwide primary by August.
