"John McCain and Sarah Palin they call this socialistic," Obama continued. "You know I don’t know when, when they decided they wanted to make a virtue out of selfishness."

If you don't want to pay Obama's new taxes for a new more Socialistic America, then you are being selfish. Nice.

Yes, someone who has an income in the top few percent and refuses to accept a very modest increase in their tax burden (all the way to what RONALD REAGAN taxed them) in order to help the country in this time of crisis is, by definition, selfish.
Deal with it.

How much money will he have to raise to make sure that every American has Health Care and every American can have the opportunity to a college education?
Originally posted by EladarNo, he'd have to stop wasting money on useless war, too.

Wait a minute ..................

It would be nice if it wasn't so expensive. I'm afraid we all have to take costs into consideration.
Originally posted by EladarSince Obama hasn't proposed either, than there's no problem.

Where in the link does it make the false assertion that Obama has proposed a National Health Insurance or National College Fund?
it’s that when we actually make sure that everybody’s got a shot – when young people can all go to college, when everybody’s got decent health care,
According to Obama, he is doing this so that all young people can go to college and everybody's got decent health care.

You people are truly ridiculous. Making sure that "young can all go to college" or "that everybody has decent health care" doesn't require that the government pay ALL college and health care costs. The programs proposed by Obama in these two areas would cost far less than the Iraq occupation.
Originally posted by whodeyYou know perfectly well that the proposal increases taxes on only the top few percent of income earners (back to what they paid under Ronald Reagan), while reducing them for virtually all the rest. There are alot of people out there who can neither afford college nor afford health care.
Originally posted by EladarThe money spent on Iraq and the increase in the top rate would bring in $250 billion a year approximately. That dwarfs the costs of Obama's college and health care programs.

Originally posted by no1marauderRaising taxes on the top few percent is still raising taxes. Are you suggesting that this will have NO ill effect on the staggering economy? In addition, what about the tax cuts set to expire in 2010? Obama originally voted against the measure so do you expect him to reinstate them? If they expire, we will be paying back what Obama may give us the next tax season and then some.
