Too bad I "only" studied Biochemistry. Guess that's not good enough.
If you went to a good undergraduate school and have decent grades, I would think you would have a shot at a job. You may consider returning to school to get a B.S. in engineering. Though, again, B.S. in chemistry is doing better now that it has. Mainly because entering freshmen are just simply not going into science and engineering programs, but instead business. Big-time shortage of engineers and scientists.
Originally posted by AThousandYoungWhen I first started at Texas A&M, I majored in physics. Then, after my first year, I went to the university career services (placement center), and looked at the data, and saw that many physics graduates were not getting jobs, and the ones that did, the starting salaries were much lower than for engineers.

I looked at the list and petroleum engineer starting salary was the highest of any degree at the university, but I thought that too specialize. The second on the list was chemical engineering. Thought to myself I always liked chemistry and math. I change my major from physics to chemical engineering.
I had so many job opportunities throughout my chemical engineering career. Unreal.

I went to UC Berkeley, the top Chemistry program in the world. My grades weren't so hot though. It was hard!
I have a B.S, not a B.A
Originally posted by AThousandYoungYeah, expensive school. But impressive. You must be sharp just to be able to gain entrance. And even with low grades, if you are willing to do the industry track instead of the academic track, I would think you could get a job. Maybe when employment comes back which is lagging in this recovery period after the great recession.

UCB is a public school. Not that expensive. I'm from CA so maybe we get low rates idk.
Originally posted by AThousandYoungOk, so you are in-state and thus cheaper. My kid and a couple of her friends looked at UCB, and I thought it relatively expensive but I guess because she is out-of-state. Again, though a premier and prestigious public school.

This ranking is a long-time coming, much-needed, and very welcomed.
[b]Job placement is key. We have to do something about these crap for-profit universities taking massive federal dollars and convincing students to go into massive debt, and with no job opportunity.
What is nice is the ranking will expose this and help promote more traditional ...[text shortened]... his ranking will show job placement and expose these crooks.
