Palin, 2006: "People across the nation struggle with the idea of building a bridge because they’ve been under these misperceptions about the bridge and the purpose,” said Palin, who described the link as the Ketchikan area’s potential for expansion and growth. … Palin said Alaska’s congressional delegation worked hard to obtain funding for the bridge as part of a package deal and that she “would not stand in the way of the progress toward that bridge.”
Palin also answered "yes" to an Anchorage Daily News poll question about whether she would continue to support state funding for the Gravina Island bridge if elected governor. "The window is now," she wrote, "while our congressional delegation is in a strong position to assist." It was only after she won the governorship that Palin shifted her position. And even then, it’s inaccurate to say that she “told the Congress ‘thanks, but no thanks.’” Palin accepted non-earmarked money from Congress that could have been used for the bridge if she so desired. That she opted to use it for other state transportation purposes doesn’t qualify as standing up to Congress.

Why don't you talk about Biden's Lie: “When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the princes of greed. He said, “look, here’s what happened.”
that is a flat out lie.
Originally posted by Bosse de NageI admire her for the simple fact she was not bread for Government actually when she was growing up she had no intention at all of being a VP nominee.
Please tell me why you admire this woman.
I also like the fact that she is the closest thing to a real human being in Government.
Many say she has no experience for the role, I say nonsence she has real life experience as being a housewife, mother and bread winner. She can relate to the people.
Now about the lying on the bridge to nowhere, well if thats all ya got on her, then she is a far cry better than all the other VP's and Presidents about lying.Nixon, Clinton, Bush alot bigger lyers and alot more behind them.
Originally posted by torch71OK, so the Christianity and the lying goes together fine. Just checking.

I'm not attacking Palin, just trying to understand -- you people.
Biden seems like an idiot. Is the inability to distinguish between reality (what happened) and myth (what should have happened) a common problem in the USA?
Originally posted by Bosse de NageI would never agree that lying is ok in Christianity, but I will state that cristians have lied in the past and they will in the future, we are NONE OF US Infoulable.

There are many out thier that attack both sides, for thier own purposes, and I for one can not see why people are so for Obama as well. I'm hung out on both sides but the real fact is I can relate to Palin not that big on McCain, distrust Obama, and I think Biden is just above pond scum, if you want my real opinion.
Originally posted by torch71Hey, don't lie, confess that you fantasize about being the President and smoking a big, fat Cuban cigar in the Oval Office while a White House trainee is at your disposal.
Or something to dip thier cigar in as sick as that might sound.😕
But I'm sure non of those had sexual relations with those women.
Don't you lie! 😛

Originally posted by no1marauderThe wonder of it all is that these things don't need to be reconciled anymore. The opposition between truth and falsehood has somehow broken down. What counts -- in the USA today (not to mention RSA), just as in Nazi Germany -- is the event: politics must be kinetic or people will simply not respond. Sarah Palin was given kudos because she was funny -- a much more serious criterion than her inability to tell the truth.

Originally posted by Bosse de NageI really feel that is is not looked at with seriousness, due to the fact of them all being liars. Heck I remember Pelosi saying gas prices will be addressed as soon as the Dems came in power in congress and Prices are as high as ever. I remember Bush 1 line of not raiseing taxes and read his lips, I remember Nixons infamous "I'm not a crook". There are so many lies in government that it is the norm now. It seems the ones everyone talks about the most is infedelity, so if you or anyone wants to critisise or find Palin guilty on something you need to find out she cheated. THEN EVERYONE WILL TALK ABOUT IT>
