i think there is a difference here - religion is often framed as profound, meaningful and universally beneficial (though possibly individually sacrificial) ... and so if para schiz's are religious gurus then the mentally "unusu ...[text shortened]... em up, ignore them, persecute them, rehabilitate them, punish them, or ignore them as we choose.
Religions have their own way of dealing with personal persuction, they call it sin and tell us that God will persecute sinners.
I am not suggesting that para schizo' should be treated as a religion, just drawing the analogy that other equally extreme beliefs have found themselves a home in our society.
The reason I chose to thread this as a discussion on belief systems is that if we are able to accept that a persons belief system is stable e.g. non-harmful to self and others. Then we maybe able to change the way we view these people and provide more effective and less debilitating treatments.
