Are there more attacks on Americans now than there were before Bush invaded Iraq? Do Americans now feel safe travelling overseas?

Thus the corollary : Never have we needed an enlightened electorate so badly.
Bush is better than what was offered. We have to decide. Right?
So we did. For better or worse. The good news is that we had the "worst" in Jimmy Carter. And Lyndon Johnson.
It's getting better each day. The electorate is getting better at rejecting hollywood and it's Euro equivilence -- all of france and the BBC -- and voting for people with character.

It is hard to reduce certain manifestations of American arrogance, as these stem from elements deeply rooted in our culture. Americans are terribly ethnocentric. When they (we) try to understand that others don't always see us as "the city upon the hill," we often have trouble recognizing ourselves as patriotic Americans. When we seem to lack patriotism, we once thought we must be commies, pinkos, fags; now it's terrorists.
Bush fails to see any problem with the notion that we are "the light of the world." Kerry has a different prspective. The American people marginally favored Bush because we viewed him as a stronger leader than Kerry. We are a terribly divided nation as a result of conflicts that were central to the differences in this past election.
The persistent belief of many Christians that we are especially chosen by God, even when they recognize that we are not the TRUE ISRAEL, undergirds the philosophy of many on one side of this cultural conflict.
