@suzianne saidStay with me here, Joe. Humor me for a minute.
Joe, would you say that a white guy who puts on blackface and sings and dances in a 'minstrel show' onstage is guilty of racism?
No ifs, ands or buts, just answer the question.

@suzianne saidI get your point, but this is an entertainer. Not the issue of which we speak. If he put on a martian face, would he in fact be discriminating against martians? An actor can put on all kinds of faces, and play the character which he is depicting. He could, like on SNL, put on the holy face of a nun, replete with halo, and not be anti-nun. Racism is de-humanizing, for lack of a better word, and the actor is not dehumanizing the person that he is representing.

You make a nice analogy, it makes for more interesting posts, and we don't have to mention Trump, or the millions of gallons of jet fuel that Climate Czar John Kerry is carbonizing the air with, as he lands in every airport in the world. See thread to follow.
This is one of your best-written posts. Refreshing indeed.
@averagejoe1 saidNo, you don't get my point, because I haven't made it yet.

Answer the question. Is it racism or not?
Why don't cons answer questions?

@suzianne saidI wasn't around in the '20s, but a certain culture, including black people (there were white minstrels, too) would do that kind of dancing which you refer to . Do you know if some of the black minstrels put white makeup on their faces and reversed this scenario?
No, you don't get my point, because I haven't made it yet.

Which, or are both, is racism?
But to answer, it is not racism. Maybe a friend backstage said you can make a lot of money if you dress up like (another race in this example of yours) and go out on stage and put on a show. Or, dress like a person of the French culture, and cast aspersions as Don Rickles made popular in the '80s. Everyone loved him. Made fun of black people all the time. Entertainment. Entertainment.
Sometimes , with all of your keying in race with every post, I get to wondering if you are racist. Feeling bad about it, you think that venting like this is some sort of salvation, I just can't figure.
@averagejoe1 saidSo you support people, like Trudeau, who were shown in old photographs, during college maybe, in blackface? Didn't you call him a racist for that?

@suzianne saidNo, I didn't, but certainly people into racism probably jumped all over it. If I commented at all, it would have been that he is a hypocrite, and that he demeans black people, could be a racist. You are the expert. I will defer to you.

@averagejoe1 saidDo you deny that it is cultural appropriation, or colonialism, and therefore racist in nature?

@suzianne saidBlack women trying to straighten their hair is cultural appropriation, the worlds crinkliest substance, 2000 times more crinkly than pubic hair and they try to make it straight like white woman hair. No wonder there's so much alopecia around, you know how they do it right, chemicals and ironing, eventually the hair gives up and says: 'we're out of hair (heh heh)", 8000 times more wrinkly than your wrinkliest shirt and you know how much ironing that takes.

@averagejoe1 saidDid you make this up all by yourself ? 😛
Let's say I do not like JJ Adams (I am white) because he said the Statue of Liberty is the wrong color. So, I put on blackface, and go beat him up.
Did a black guy beat him up? No. I am a cuturalist, and my culture tells me to beat up such people. I beat him up because of my culture, not my color. Whew. Nothing to add, actually.
@wajoma saidStraight hair is not a culture.

@suzianne saidSome observations can not be put into words, I guess. Allow me to present how a discussion can get into mire and quicksand, feed off to itself, leave everyone wondering how to recognize and resolve that which you want to discuss with a thousand posts. Even if we concluded that you are a racist and I am not, ....tell me, what do we do then? Should we not instead be getting ready to storm SCOTUS after Roe!!?!? Much more tangible!
Straight hair is not a culture.
Anyway, please regard this link.

I had a point, but after all your rambling nonsense, I think I don't care anymore.
