This is actually just another way for the "cover up caucus" to give Trump some political cover if he decides to fire Rosenstein. Of course, Meadows and the rest know impeachment and conviction isn't going to happen but throwing up some Trumped up charges might be used as a justification for firing. It's childishly transparent, but the Tea Party Caucus isn't run by rocket scientists.
