Look at it as a stimulus package for the prison industry. Think of all the jobs that would be lost if they closed it down moon.

Both of you seem to dodge the point that if the Republicans had voted yes on the amendment, we would be in the process of closing Guantanamo.
Do you understand that? That the Democrats voted yes on the amendment to close Guantanamo, that the President signs the NDAA, but the Republicans reject the amendment.
Do you understand that? We could be in the process of closing Guantanamo right now if the Republicans had voted yes. The Democrats voted yes.
And it would be very difficult to close Guantanamo and transfer the prisoners to federal prison without funding from the House, which the Republicans have made clear they would not provide such funding.
No matter what happened in the past, right now do you want Guantanamo closed? Did you vote for one of the Republicans in the House who voted against the amendment to close Guantanamo?

By the way, Obama has tried to make preparations for that without Congress, put can't make it happen until get enough Republican votes.
