so you are saying a Yale law professor is wrong and you are right. 😂

BTW, impersonating a lawyer is a felony in new york state.
😉
Are you ever going to read the article cited in the OP so you can discuss it or are you just going to keep trying to change the subject?

A conviction leads to sentencing.

So, if someone is not convicted, he won’t be eligable for sentencing. See?

So, before you go spewing forth that right-wing propaganda, stop and think for a second.

For example, what does convicted mean?
From the Oxford dictionary: “having officially been found guilty of a crime in a law court.”

So, convicted means: found guilty.
It has nothing to do with sentencing, other than that you need a conviction to move on to sentencing.

And I ain’t no lawyer. So, if your Yale source actually said what you say he says, he’s wrong. But, considering the definitions are really, really, really simple to grasp, I would presume that Yale lawyer said nothing of the sort.

If a Yale law professor says someone who is convicted of a felony in New York State criminal courts isn't a convicted felon until he sentenced, he's wrong.

You’re just mumbling BS.

Yes. trump is a convicted felon. End of.

Edit:

Seriously. Are you really retarded? I don’t want to take the pish if you are, but you seriously don’t seem to grasp what I posted, the gist of it (you don’t need to be a lawyer to comprehend English) or even understand thar I quoted directly from a dictionary.

Convicted = found guilty in a court of law.
It has nothing to do with sentencing.

Sweet Jesus almighty.

a court of law includes the judge, the process is not complete until the judge signs off on it…end of story

juries have found people guilty before only for the judge to go against them

your little lawyer boy forgot that part lol

I didn't forget it at all; Trump's lawyers made that motion right after Judge Merchan discharged the jury and he denied it:

"Trump’s attorney Todd Blanche moved for an acquittal of the charges, notwithstanding the verdict. The judge denied the motion."

https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/trump-hush-money-trial-05-30-24/index.html

It's the sub-article time stamped 1:56 PM EDT June 7, 2024.
