So pensioners should think about their future more?

Hey RC. You are making way too much sense here.

I say that as soon as a child can clean himself after falling in the toi-toi he/she has earned the right -- ney -- the responsibility of voting.

Further I think it is silly to place all the restrictions on childern that we do as a society. For example, I see no reason at all for medical doctors to have to gain actual life experience in surgery before being turned loose to do open-heart in their garage. And what's with this airplane driver thing! Any kid who wants to should be able to get a job for Qantas.

I would say it is a crap shoot. I have known kids who at nine years old are mature enough to be able to study political issues. I have known 80 year olds who are still naive to the point of frustration. As I said a year or two ago. This "Democratic Vote" thing is highly over-rated. It's a crap shoot as to the government we get. The people who control the education system will always win in the end. Just like uncle Lenin said.

The voters are 90% like their parents, and the other 10% are like their favorite teacher. Where is the room for discourse and dialogue?

Teachers who push politics and sensitive personal beliefs should be reined in strongly. Our teachers colleges at present are nambi pambi liberalistic hives of *homo-homogenistic pro-feminism. No wonder the teaching trade is female dominated here.

But the power in politics is with the legal profession. So many politicians are failed lawyers.. Lawyer become judges and a retired judge is our Gov Gen. They all want a say in lawmaking and we are so over legislated you can't breathe.

The system isn't right but letting kids vote isn't the answer.

*made that word up..seems to work though

Ok.

Teachers are employed by us. We pay their wage by paying our tax.

I think you want to express a hatred of women... the "homo-homogenistic pro-feminism" thing.

While I can appreciate your effort, I must divorce from your content. But go get em'!!!!

Give em hell. Damned women. What did they ever do for us? Well. Except the life thingy? Other than that? What did they ever do for us?

Anti feminist isn't anti female. Feminism was very 80's here. Hopefully we have a new age balance that doesn't require that kind of thinking here.

But our primary schools are staffed by about 85% females. They can't recruit male staff. This is a fact that has been much bandied in the press and it was announced this my post that they are going to make changes and target men for teacher recruitment.

Why?

Why would one want to contradict all that nature and nurture teaches us?

Men are ego maniac pigs.

Women are able to bond and nurture babies and children.

Men will as soon kill as admit defeat.

Women are able to smile and then demand a reasoned reply.

Men create masses of steel that weigh 12 million pounds... all of which move and work to make a machine.

Women create little moments in time where big old powerful men can smile at a two year old child and relax.

Men fight big old wars.

Women grieve and bring the survivors to dinner on the sunday after the funeral.

Who is great? Who has power? The big old man? Or the woman who makes civilization work?
