Ah, but apparently HAL stood for Heuristic ALgorthimic or some such, nothing to do with IBM at all. Apparently.... (Yeah, right!)

(Heuristic and Algorithmic are both computing techniques for solving complex problems - but you guys all knew that already!)

You're not one of those equidistant letter sequence-types are you?
Just noticed the joined date, thanks. The date on my home page says 05 Dec 05, but you seem to know more about these things than do I.
Does the JVG hold special significance for the two (or more) of you? I thought you said your friend was HayVeeGee.

Quit splitting hairs. Marvin, you, with a brain the size of planet, should know better.
By your own admission you take the Creation myth to be truth and as far as I can tell, the Bible to be the word of God.
And, of course, you are solidly qualified to declare any part of the Bible as myth, after years of research and analysis, to be sure.

As stated previously, the usual connotation with Joe Sixpack of the word 'religious' conjures up images of one doing something to gain the approbation of a diety. Practicing this, penancing that. Within the supplied definition of 'religious.' you reiterated the same. I made my notable exceptions, but otherwise accepted your label.

I can only assume you accept the label of godless heathen, in turn.

Who the hell is Marvin?

I take the whole bible to be a collection of myths written to teach lessons, not to be taken literally. With all the contradictions, edits, books that are missing or left out, translations and falacies I wonder how anyone can take the bible literally.

If you are trying to appeal to Joe Sixpack you are on the wrong site or at least in the wrong forum. The I believe in omnipotent beings forum is nextdoor.

You may call me a godless heathen if it makes you feel better, but riddle me this; If I don't believe in gods how can I be godless. You could just as aptly call me angelless or devilless. Take your pick.

As you say, if it makes you feel better...

The point of the post was, sometimes the label isn't as accurate as (should be) desired.

You point missed the mark as calling me a godless heathen would be apt as I don't believe in god (godless) and I am an irreligious person (heathen).

Oh damn it looks like I am going to hell, too bad I don't believe in hell either. 🙁

It sounds like that comment belongs in the spirituality forum. I tire of your faith-based claptrap. If you close your brain really, really tightly, you can see the Son too.

You should tire of your dogma-based clap-trap, but that would pre-suppose an open mind, now, wouldn't it?

It is not trapped, it is merely enjoying the warmth. The sweet corn you refer to isn't as sweet coming out as it was going in.

Fine, play dumb. It's still hilarious watching you get banned over and over again.
