@wildgrass saidGood point, but these classes also exist to give college-bound students a head-start. Neutering these classes renders that purpose moot.
AP are high school courses, so I think colleges will be fine for now. Until desanctimonious comes for them too.

@Earl-of-Trumps
Oh, you mean don't upset those poor white kids by teaching the REAL history of American slavery? Sure, lets rewrite it like DeSantis wants. SLAVERY WAS A GOOD THING because it taught them SKILLS.
One of the so-called skills they made ILLEGAL to teach was READING.
Or any other branch of education for that matter.
Can't have those sub human slaves getting uppity and actually learning to read and maybe they get to read history books......Yep, real skills.

I would *love* to teach the kids the real truth about slavery and the post slavery era, too! Yeah, let's make sure that the students
learn that all slaves just prior to the civil war, were owned by democrats, and how the Republicans went to war
with the southern democrats to free those slaves. Yes, the children must be told the ugly truth about slavery!!
Also, the children must know how the former slaves endured the hateful treatment they received from
the Ku Klux Klan, a Democratic party creation, that terrorized African American families with cross burnings
and by hanging African Americans from trees. Yes, Sonhouse, the truth must be told
Also, as a result of laws passed by democrats, African Americans had to sit at the rear of the bus,, and other venues.
Yes, the students must know about this!!! and "Separate but Equal" policy was also a democratic party creation.
Yes, our students have a lot to learn, eh?

@sleepyguy saidI picked up on that too. 😳
@Suzianne
"prohibits any teaching that could make students feel they bear personal responsibility for historic wrongs because of their race, color, sex or national origin."
You say that like it's a bad thing.

@wajoma saidWhat? Take away the power that dems have worked so hard for? The control? The control of our children.?
Privatize all education, parents and students chose and pay for schools whose curriculums suit their needs.
Solution: Goobermint out, let freedom reign.
And you think me facetious? I would guess, marauder to be the one most in favor of controlling our children. Who else, do you think? A poll!!
@earl-of-trumps saidLibs w skip over this post, as it is not convenient. I would hope at least sonhouse would respond, so that we can really learn something.

@averagejoe1 saidNot the Corporation, that's for damned sure.

@averagejoe1 saidThat's the stated purpose of AP courses. Get them ready for college material. Duhhhh...
College-bound? I am glad to hear some people are saving money for a college education. I learn so much on the Forum.
@averagejoe1 saidNot convenient, or not factual or relevant?

@earl-of-trumps saidYou've been schooled on this erroneous thinking many times, but still you persist in it?

What is wrong with you?
The political parties in America have literally switched sides since the Civil War.
But you ignore this crucial point.
@suzianne saidMaybe they will do well enough for a scholarship. (Not free money in your sense of the word. freefreefree)
That's the stated purpose of AP courses. Get them ready for college material. Duhhhh...
@suzianne saidThe reason is irrelevant. It is a great post, and you will all skip over it. Boring. Why don't you write about those horrible corporations, who made your computer?................your lifeline to the world? Touching on their greed for making you PAY for the computer?
Not convenient, or not factual or relevant?
Start a believable thread convincing us that they should GIVE you the computer.
