Suzianne Divegeester Xajlanzi and Shavixmir all compete in a 100 yard dash. Suzianne wins by 2 paces. Kev is the judge and says she trained better, ran harder, And deserved a trophy and a $1000 prize for first place. The other three participants only got one dollar apiece.
Based on many answers in this forum, including the one at equal treatment, I would think that you would all find something wrong with this scenario. Any comments? And congratulations Suzanne, for a job well done for which you should have been rewarded. Maybe the other guys were watching TV while you were training..
Should Suzianne split the $1000 between the four of them? A difficult question for the liberal sect I’m sure.ππ»βοΈππΏπβοΈππΏ

@averagejoe1 saidWell whoever decided on the disparity between first, second and third place in terms of prize money because it doesn’t make any sense is an idiot.

If your asking if us libs are ok with the winner of the 100 yard dash getting a markedly bigger prize than the runner up then yes of course the winner gets more.
But I would think it’s inequitable if the winner got professional trainers at his school and his mother could afford proper running shoes whilst the runner up had to teach himself snd run in 20 dollar sneakers. I think in that case we would no nearer to finding out who the most talented runner was and we are just rewarding privilege.
@averagejoe1 saidThe phrase "law school ethics" had me rolling on the floor.

@kevcvs57 saidSo you are saying the kid that didn't get the training should be engineered to win because he faced more hardship in his training for a completely fair race? They should both run the race barefoot and naked, and no matter the outcome the kid that received coaching loses or ties at best?

@joe-shmo saidNo I’m saying the kid that got all the specialised training and gear has not proven itself to be the most talented, but just the most privileged,

Say it was a qualifier for your Olympic team and you based your selection on the result, you wouldn’t necessarily be getting the runner with the best potential and when they come up against the more naturally talented runners from your competitor nations you’ll probably look a bit stupid for selecting him or her.

Magnus wouldn't necessarily wipe the floor with you 1000 times in a row, but its likely the case...
I suppose if he ever read a Chess book that one of his competitors hadn't read...he's not really the world champ?
@kevcvs57 saidWhy do you qualify my entire post? Libs do that. OK, you and I live next door to each other, dads both make $40K a year working for th city. We have same diet, we are same size, etc etc. Our dads tell us to race and the winner gets $5.00.

You see that I am trying to point out that this analogy applies to our society, where liberals cannot POSSIBLY apply the result of this race to the daily life in our society. Why can you not just say, " Suzianne keeps all the money, as a result of competition where she outperformed her contemporaries"? You can not, because it would negate about every position that you have posited on this forum.
@joe-shmo saidVery to the point, Shmo. OK, forget Kev's concern about running shoes. Two normal guys study chess and compete. Billy wins $1000.00. Kev, can he keep this money, as he competed and beat the devil out of little Henry? When they grow up, and Billy makes $100K a year and Henry makes $40K, that will be "Unequal Treatment' according to you and Kamala. Will it be?
necessarily

@joe-shmo saidYeah ok if you cannot counter my argument why not move to another thread.

But if your going to use analogies stick with the 100 yard dash analogy, you know, like I did. It don’t make a lot of sense otherwise.
@kevcvs57 saidOK. 5 kids all live in an apartment building, each with single mom. All receive same welfare checks each month, no other source of income except entitlements.
Yeah ok if you cannot counter my argument why not move to another thread.

Whew. OK, the mothers each put one-cent in a cup, and tell the boys to race, and the winner gets the 5 Cents.
Is this scenario fair, does the winner get all the money? You can do this, Kev. If this is just too much for you to get your brain around, let us assume they all run barefoot. Whew. I cannot IMAGINE thinking like a liberal.
@kevcvs57 saidDon't you just hate it? Anyway, why can you not comment on my revised scenario, the runners are EXACTLY equal as they approach the starting line, except maybe for desire. When one wins, can he/she keep the money? Because, that is not what you preach when you write about people who work harder than other people. Do you not think that the harder workers should share the fruits of their labor?
It was the “I teach” bit that got me in stitches.
@cheesemaster saidLiberals cannot settle the concept of success, advancement, etc in their minds when it (the mind) is cluttered with concepts of everyone being equal, as Kamala suggests. This one premise runs throughout all comments by liberals on this forum.
I refuse to waste my life working and trying to achieve "success" but I don't expect anything from those hard workers and I respect them.
Is this where you are going with this?
Or is it the everyone gets a trophy liberal BS?
Note that they will not answer this, the most simple of analogies. Two people race, one wins. Is a reward in order? Why is that? Is this thread going to die?
