Sadly, the more that some people DEMAND people do not be racist ( re- individuals), the more they are likely to remain just that.
Racism is a cancer but you cannot coerce someone to be cured.
This sad state was 100's of years in the making, it can NOT be fixed overnight.

Very few if any countries who practiced slavery “back in the day” had democratic governments so you’ll need to provide some other sort of evidence to support your assertion that “it was what most people wanted”.

That would be, by definition, democratic, and not the exercise of mob rule.

It becomes mob rule when you reach for a weapon when you hear that the owner of some corporation simply felt blessed by the sitting US President.
