Except the ban didn't work. It was announced a couple of weeks ahead of time and so those wanting in just switched to going to say Toronto THEN to the US or Mexico city and to the US.
That stupid move did NOTHING to stop the virus especially since it didn't get to the US from Asia at all, it came first from Europe and the same thing with the Euro ban, those who wanted in just switched countries, go to Rio first etc.

A nursing home can accept a resident diagnosed with COVID-19 and still under Transmission Based Precautions for COVID-19 as long as the facility can follow CDC guidance for
Transmission-Based Precautions. If a nursing home cannot, it must wait until these precautions are discontinued. "
