Actually, D64, I am merely taunting you two ex allies in a very personal attack on myself, for now finding yourselves at loggerheads.
As I said, Karma
It was never proven that KDs ancestor, who may or may not have lost a limb, who may or may not have been interred at Andersonville, was actually KDs great great grandfather. (The chances of a Yank officer with a recently lost limb surviving Andersonville was never discussed, he switched focus, you eagerly agreed)
You know all this. I will produce proof if asked
The post that was quoted here has been removedCorrect for once. Furthermore, I have done much more study into the battle of Shiloh. My Great Great Grandfather did get his arm blown off by a cannon unlike your and others disbelief Duchess. My GGGF was in the hornets nest at Shiloh where the confederates made a dozen charges on but to no avail. Then, their General Johnston was killed by a bullet to the back of his leg that severed his femoral arterie and he bleed to death. The confederates got so mad that they pointed all their 62 cannons on the hornets nest and blew it to smithereens. They then took over 2200 wounded prisoners which included my GGGF. The next day reinforcements arrived for the north and they pushed those treasonous SOB out of the area for good.
