@Earl-of-Trumps
Well, HUMAN causes are a LOT more believable than stupid UFO aliens.
Of course an argument like that would not fly 200 years ago, if there was credible evidence back then.
@bunnyknight saidI once met someone who claimed he was the reincarnation of Jesus. And he was arguing with someone who claimed he was the new messiah. On top of Petra-gate youth hostel in Jerusalem.
@Duchess64
I've never seen an alien nor a UFO, but I've met a very old retired air force engineer and pilot who said that aliens are very, very real and the public has been kept in the dark.
True story. It only gets weirder from there (another tale for another day), but it does serve the purpose of showing that just because someone claims something, doesn’t actually make it true.
@earl-of-trumps saidGood grief.
Another follow up article here, featuring Nick Pope, who I think is great.

Mysterious UFO encounters probed by Pentagon could ‘hypersonic drones from China or Russia’, claims ex-MoD investigator
Yes. UFO’s exist. They’re flying objects or what people think are flying objects, which they can’t identify.
Not aliens.
Aliens don’t come to Earth to buzz around boats and they don’t go to Arkansas to create crop circles.
“Beep beep rrrrrr... yes. This is the starship Galactifalcon... we’re just going to travel 50 light years to scare a farmer in Mississippi.”
Mhmmmmm
I was living in Crawley (true story) and the people I was living with were telling me all about the giant UFO sighting (would have been around 95 /96 I reckon). The whole block, seemingly, was out on the street pointing to the sky in amazement. Lights, mist, the works.
So, one of the people, whilst telling this tale of near alien invasion walked with me to the street and pointed in the direction the UFO sightings had been.
“What’s over in that direction?” I asked.
“Gatwick.” He eventually answered.
Now, I ain’t no Captain Kirk, but lights in the mist above a distant airport surely should point to other causes than aliens...
Yet, in the heat of the moment that block in Crawley went down a rabbit hole and noone managed to back out of it.
Very strange.
@earl-of-trumps saidWell we are not really disagreeing anyway. Obviously whatever it was remains a UFO by definition but I’m much more inclined to believe it’s Earth based whilst being certain that we are not the only or anything like the most intelligent life in existence.
Kev, it's been that way for decades. Apparently these UFO operators don't really give a hoot whether or not
they are detectable by human radar. I have seen scads of cases where a UFO is sighted and people sue the FAA
under the FOIA to get the radar images, only to have the FAA plead in court that releasing the information is a "security issue".
And the information i ...[text shortened]... tellar and intergalactic crafts.,,
that is clearly up for debate. Nobody can say that for certain.
@sonhouse saidSoooo,,, the Pentagon is basically stupid? hmmm.... I thought you were a man of science??

Maybe they are lying. But why?
@shavixmir saidAnd were such people that you cite actually gainfully employed as scientists, engineers, pilots etc??

how about if "someone" tells you that they saw a giant squid, do you reject their testimony out-of-hand?
@shavixmir - Yes. UFO’s exist. They’re flying objects or what people think are flying objects, which they can’t identify.
Not aliens.
---------------------------
Care to prove that? If you can't identify them then how can you possibly say that - "not Alien"?
I am not prepared to swear that these crafts are Alien in origin however, it seems the most logical choice.
As far as your Cawley story goes, I've heard such BS explanations over and over, ugh, the point is,
these people live next to that airport and never saw anything like that before. Also, the experienced people
witnessed it, *you*... didn't. So, I'm supposed to believe you?
<grin> no thanks, I have better choices. They have actual details to share.
@kevcvs57 saidBingo. Yes, by *definition* it is a UFO, without regard to origin.

It is my prerogative, until scientifically proven otherwise, to believe they are alien in origin. Just an opinion. I know for fact that they have been around longer than man hs been flying, soo....
@earl-of-trumps saidIt does not, by a long shot, seem the most plausable answer.

Science has NO WAY to prove that ET's cannot exist. There are some 800 billion planets in this Milky Way Galaxy. 😲 😵
And you know them all to be void of life??
And when you get done there, there are some 2 trillion more galaxies for you to check out.
You're playing a fool's game, mate. Checkmate.
@earl-of-trumps saidSigh.

I absolutely don’t deny that the chances of alien life are very likely.
The chances of aliens flying all the way to Earth just to make crop circles and swoop around an airport are absurdly small.
You’re suffering from a blend of wishful thinking and stupidity.
@shavixmir saidAnd you suffer from telling great big lies. Nothing new there

I have compelling evidence, otherwise I would never take the position that I did so long ago.
There is also a personal experience that I had and an incredible one that my father and many coworkers
of his all had, along with two photos of said experience. So I know what the huck I am talking about.
The reasons you list as to why Aliens have ventured here are absurd, that is only what is seen on the surface.
There is an excellent chance these entities are multi dimensional and coming in and out of our 3-D reality
with great ease, but you and other know-it-alls seem to know better. ho hum.
the truth is, you DON'T know better. You only "presume".
The difference between your argument and mine is, I can produce TONS of evidence.
You can only move your lips up and down and get all excited.
