The Paris Hilton thing reminds me a lot in quantity and substance of the hoopla expended over Princess Diana before she made everyone turn serious by dying tragically (really, it was tragic).

Funny you should mention that. Personally I see them both cut from a similar tragic cloth. Physically there is a waspy sameness, throw in a nose and a slightly tragic air and you are sitting at the same charity benefit luncheon.

I tried reading that, it was like listening to someone at the edge of madness and meaning. Maybe thinking that there was a rational logical narrative to be contained in that piece was a bit too much to expect.
