An Al Qaeda oath??
The next thing you know Osama Bin Laden will be stroking a pussy cat, change the organisation's name to SPECTRE and call himself Lex Luthor.
Good grief.
On the other hand, the stacks of girly mags offsets that.

We don't technically "occupy" any of those countries, but I think I know what you mean, so no offense intended. We simply provide "protection" (LOL) for the good people of these countries at your and my expense, and with the exception of England, for the most part, are paid back in Anti-Americanism...pull ALL troops out of Europe NOW! Let them take care of themselves at their own expense. We aren't wanted there anymore anyway...
My point was that those who criticize the US for "occupying" Iraq do not offer any way to morally distinguish between German presense in France in WWII and US military presence in England today. There whole analysis boils down to "military presense = occupation", which is a useless definition unless they are willing to call existing US military bases in England (or Germany) an "occupation".

You're probably right, but does the headline deflect from the fact that terrorists are now being bred on home soil and simply reinforcing the message that America needs to hate and destroy Al Qaeda? More fuel for the bogus War on Terrorism...
...gee I didn’t notice any homegrown hockey players on that list.

Rome occupied Palestine and surrounding lands in the time of Christ.
Rome levied taxes, and were the main (if only) provider of military protection to the occupied countries in the region. Rome took an annual cencus and collected taxes based on this as well as other minor forms of taxation. Palestine did not have a standing army, and the only tax seemed to be the Temple Tax and through religion, somewhat claimed to hold the people together under the Roman occupation. However, the religion of the time and the area (Judaism) had two main brances which did not agree on many important points such as reincarnation, angels' marrying or not, and other after life questions. In addition to the two big factions, there were many splinter groups which would have various beliefs on top of what the two main factions were selling. This is an occupation.
Germany occupied France during WWII. Heavy rule, no military allowed, no dissent and no true voice except for the traitorous Vichy French. The Soviet Union occupied many nations which they did not occupy prior to the start of WWII. They threw them behing an Iron Curtain and controlled most aspects of life from work to travel. The United States simply had a military presence in many nations after WWII as a buffer to the ever present Soviet threat of further expansion.
I know this, as I've lived in West Germany in the mid 1970's. I was stationed on a TAC Fighter Wing, in an Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) Squadron supporting (mainly) F4's and F15's (recently introduced into the theater). If we were not there helping Europe strengthen her stance, the Soviets may have acted out a 'Fulda Gap' type scenario...for real.
What we see today is many locations is 'military presence' not occupation. Get it right.

JULIET:
'Tis but thy name that is my enemy;
Thou art thyself, though not a Montague.
What's Montague? it is nor hand, nor foot,
Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part
Belonging to a man. O, be some other name!
What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;
So Romeo would, were he not Romeo call'd,
Retain that dear perfection which he owes
Without that title. Romeo, doff thy name,
And for that name which is no part of thee
Take all myself.

Talk to someone who has spent time in an occupied country vs someone who has spent time in a country with another military presence and you'll know the difference.
