@metal-brain saidWell what did you expect him to say?
"When asked whether the U.S. interferes in other countries’ elections, James Woolsey said, “Well, only for a very good cause in the interests of democracy."
Woolsey says we have to undermine democracy to promote it. Explain that.
“Yea you got me there, we are bad people and hypocrites to boot”.
What you have to decide is who do you want to win the dirty war that all nations are engaged in.
If I have to choose between a capitalist democracy like the US and an oligarchical autocracy like Russia then it’s the capitalist democracy for me every time because at least I can bring some political weight to bear on the powers that be.
No one is saying it’s morally wrong for Russia to meddle in a US election, that would be silly, but it is morally wrong for a candidate to collude in and take advantage of the meddling of a foreign power.
@kevcvs57 saidYou think the USA in not an oligarchy?

I beg to differ.
If the USA is a true democracy why does the corporate news media ignore most political parties to give the 2 major parties an advantage?

@shavixmir saidSo the minority who have wealth from US lobby groups influence US foreign policy more than the majority of people. Is that a democracy?
There is no explanation other than power and wealth for US lobby groups, when talking about US foreign policy.

@metal-brain saidNo one is claiming that the US or any other country is a true democracy, you need to grow up, it’s a matter of degree.

Of course rich corporations and people have undue political power in a capitalist democracy, the clues in the name.
If these oligarchs in the US are so all powerful how did Trump, whom his followers claim is stripping them of their power and draining the swamp get elected in 2016.
The idea that anyone in the US has the same iron grip on power that Putin has in Russia is patently ridiculous.

@kevcvs57 saidSo democracy is a farce. The majority is not being represented so this is not even a real representative democracy.

Trump never drained the swamp. He is just another puppet of the oligarchs.
"The idea that anyone in the US has the same iron grip on power that Putin has in Russia is patently ridiculous."
How did the CIA get Yeltsin into power with election meddling if the USSR had a firm grip on power?

@metal-brain saidDoes the US have open and free elections, where it's not of any consequence what gender, race or religion you are?
So democracy is a farce. The majority is not being represented so this is not even a real representative democracy.

That, is democracy.
The fact that it goes ascew because of powerful lobby groups and corrupt individuals say nothing about the basis of the system. What it does say is that certain parts of the system need adjusting.
@metal-brain saidThe Soviet Union collapsed under its own weight, nothing in reality to do with Yeltsin or the CIA. You really need to educate yourself on theses matters because your obsession with individual heroes and villains makes you seem like a simpleton at best and bare faced propagandist at worse.

It’s only a farce if you think it was ever meant to be the perfect vehicle for the equal distribution of political power.
It’s the best balance between preventing the total and irrevocable accumulation of power into the hands of the few and the freedom of the individual that we have.
@metal-brain saidOdd, The Mueller Investigation, said different.
You mean like you ignoring the fact the Russia/Trump collusion investigation was started by a false rumor? Absolutely no evidence at all.
Do you believe that truth or do you prefer the lie that there was evidence?
The Mueller report, officially titled Report On The Investigation Into Russian Interference In The 2016 Presidential Election, is the official report documenting the findings and conclusions of former Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian efforts to interfere in the 2016 United States presidential election, allegations of conspiracy or coordination between Donald Trump's presidential campaign and Russia, and allegations of obstruction of justice.Wikipedia

@sonhouse saidStupid;
High intelligence, say mensa members can be stupid.
Stupid is where you ignore your own intelligence about some subject but instead find some site saying obvious lies he totally believes.
Intelligence has nothing to do with Stupid.
A chronic disease, suffered by many.
Sufferers often exhibit opinions that
are completely devoid of facts or reason.
Stupidity often manifests itself by a patients
inability to distinguish wild conspiracy theories,
with rational probability's.
Treatment is difficult as stupid people will dispute undeniable
truths, even when presented with overwhelming evidence.
Although there is much research being done, at this time
it appears, that there is NO KNOWN CURE for STUPID
@jimm619
Just had a conversation with my sister, lives in North Carolina.
Total Trumpite.
I asked her now that Trump is getting deeper legal troubles, I said so suppose Trump gets convicted of a real crime, would you still support him?
YES because the courts are ALL corrupt.
I said, but that means you think Trump is above the law,
But NO WAY, but the courts are ALL corrupt.
Don't know what to do to counter that kind of thinking.
@sonhouse saidDiscouraging isn't it?
