What you have to decide is who do you want to win the dirty war that all nations are engaged in.
If I have to choose between a capitalist democracy like the US and an oligarchical autocracy like Russia then it’s the capitalist democracy for me every time because at least I can bring some political weight to bear on the powers that be.
No one is saying it’s morally wrong for Russia to meddle in a US election, that would be silly, but it is morally wrong for a candidate to collude in and take advantage of the meddling of a foreign power.

That, is democracy.
The fact that it goes ascew because of powerful lobby groups and corrupt individuals say nothing about the basis of the system. What it does say is that certain parts of the system need adjusting.

It’s only a farce if you think it was ever meant to be the perfect vehicle for the equal distribution of political power.
It’s the best balance between preventing the total and irrevocable accumulation of power into the hands of the few and the freedom of the individual that we have.

I asked her now that Trump is getting deeper legal troubles, I said so suppose Trump gets convicted of a real crime, would you still support him?
YES because the courts are ALL corrupt.
I said, but that means you think Trump is above the law,

Don't know what to do to counter that kind of thinking.
