I think most people understand "Socialism" as a democracy with
some sort of welfare state
a policy of redistribution of wealth through taxation
legislation on markets (particularly monopolies)
and perhaps above all a fair society
a long way from Marx!!

If you'd like to expand on what you think that my belief is and why you made the following assertion "idealized socialism you have in mind only exists as a propaganda weapon" I'd be delighted in answering you. But if I don't know the reasons that made you say what you said I can't answer you in any meaningful way.
