@athousandyoung saidDumb enough to ban?Beneath an ordinary math problem, students are asked, “How can you understand your feelings?”
That’s dumb and should not be in a math book.
Is that phrase a whole lot different than
saying, ''How do you come to that conclusion?''
C'mon, all the important things and y'all wanna' make this an issue?
@athousandyoung saidMy understanding.......... banned from school libraries
Is it a ban or simply a decision not to purchase the product?
as well as being de-listed as a Florida school textbook.
@jimm619 saidNo.

It was NOT purchased by ONE school district. Others may buy it.
It was NOT banned from all school libraries.
Please be more accurate in your description of things..

@athousandyoung saidI agree.Beneath an ordinary math problem, students are asked, “How can you understand your feelings?”
That’s dumb and should not be in a math book.
@athousandyoung saidCouldn't agree more, ATY.Beneath an ordinary math problem, students are asked, “How can you understand your feelings?”

Let us suppose RHP people bought a book of Chess problems that are of the "Mate in x" variety.
And when you "solve" a theme problem, you are then asked “How can you understand your feelings?”
---------------------------------------
The woke people don't want our students to focus, they want them to be kept off balance, overburdened, and held back from excelling.

Isn't it generally accepted that people who buy books of chess problems are genderless dweebs who aren't even on the autism spectrum? 😉
Is Woke still even a thing now?
I would agree that we should all be aware of human tendencies within ourselves and all those NPCs who share our planet to try to share or impose some worldview or another on each other.
We should all be skeptical of Socialist Realism, or Woke Realism, or Capitalist Realism, etc.
@earl-of-trumps saidLooks like I replied before your edit. I completely get your drift about the direction of attention (or as magicians would say, misdirection).

P.S. -- Some lockstepper might come along any moment now to call me a Lincoln-Log Republican and scold me for betraying Stonewall, The New York Native, The Advocate, Absolut Vodka, RuPaul, and what have you. 😉

@athousandyoung saidEmotion, yet peace.Beneath an ordinary math problem, students are asked, “How can you understand your feelings?”

Ignorance, yet knowledge.
Passion, yet serenity.
Chaos, yet harmony.
Death, yet The Force.
