I was the one (or maybe someone else did as well) who alerted the Moderator. MightRight (who has now assumed another identity want to have a guess who?) was crossing the line of civility with his personal attacks and accusing everyone who disagreed with him/her of being gay. Not only was it senseless but it made him look like a silly 12 year old in school calling his fellow students names. Well he/she may be 12, who knows

And I made a cracking point in that thread.
Surely the moderators need to realise that discussing aspects of homosexuality and the Church are not homophobic.
If individual users make homophobic comments then those posts should be deleted, not the entire thread.
I call upon the moderators to release the "Catholic Church vs Gays" thread!!
Let's get one thing straight.
This site is a 'family friendly' and 'work friendly' site.
There are teenagers and people at work using these forums.
The site owners are really serious about this and intend to keep the forums in line with that policy as far as possible.
If threads / posts 'cross the line' they are removed.
This is a very subjective point: When does a thread or post cross that line?
Well, the community uses their 'vote' in the form of alerts and then the moderators take a decision, based on the site policies of family and work friendly.
We try to keep the forums as open as possible, but some things are just not tolerated here.
If you want to discuss off-limit things seriously - there are hundreds of other places around the web where you can do so.
Now, what topics are off limit here? Just think what you would not want your 13 year old child to read.
At the end of the day, this is a correspondence chess site, with the added bonus of forums, not the other way around...
Originally posted by Forum ModeratorI don't know if this has been suggested before, but seeing that a lot of the spammey flamey stuff tends to originate out of the keybooards of a minority of players who seem to have a shockingly woefull move rate, can't the monkey fix it so that you need to at least be making a minimum amount of moves a month before you are allowed to post in the forums?
