Just to clear up a few things;
1. Air New Zealand's logo is indeed a koru, not a kiwi. Ansett New Zealand's logo (while it existed) was not a kiwi either.
2. A koru is the most common Maori pattern, looking much like a spiral, carved on many Maraes and boats and so forth. Here is a link that may give you an idea what a koru is:
