Jo Jo, I respectfully disagree.

When people are given special status over others, doesn’t the validity of the special status now affect everyone, making it everyone’s business?
Excellent point. For example:
It's Ok for people to espouse their sexual views and proclivities in a parade and not expect to be charged with sexual harassment

@athousandyoung saidGood one.
The right to remain silent
Here's another: A baker, has the right NOT to bake the wedding cake with two men or two women on top.

I would think that refusing to be a slave would be one of those Inalienable Rights in the US Constitution. Or... it is in error. 🙂

@earl-of-trumps saidSlaves don’t get paid and can’t quit. Their masters can rape them, mutilate or kill them, or sell their children. Your comment shows an extreme lack of appreciation for just how hellish slavery was.

@kevcvs57 saidHe is insecure, trying to find himself. With a top knot? “Look at me!” Truly, do you take him serious when you’re chatting with him? Don’t you feel like there is a little bit of something missing, man-to-man, So, yeah, now I see what you mean, Joe.
I work everyday with a bloke who where’s a top knot, it’s not anything like a problem, how big a snowflake are you Joe

@athousandyoung saidNo, because his comment speaks only to a right. Earl didn’t talk about slave owners’ malfeasance.

@kellyjay saidWhat special status are you referring to?
When people are given special status over others, doesn’t the validity of the special status now affect everyone, making it everyone’s business?
The right to be vilified and persecuted by ignorant people, is that the status your alluding to?

@kellyjay saidOf course, we vote to plan a vote, to elect such leaders. Yes, they are legally and agreeably given a position of affecting everyone?
When people are given special status over others, doesn’t the validity of the special status now affect everyone, making it everyone’s business?
So what is your issue?

@kevcvs57 saidYou really need to stay on topic not to be vilified and persecuted is an across the board thing everyone should enjoy just for being.

That was not what I was referring to, being given protective class or privilege class status places some in position not enjoyed by non-protected class individuals. Therefore perks and privileges are handed over to some and not others, this makes it everybody’s business we are all affected.

@kellyjay saidNote, regarding ‘protective’ or privilege’ being given…..being given?. Who gave what to whom?

Then you say that perks and privileges are ‘handed over.’ ….?
I am trying to explain this to my winemaker, but I don’t understand it myself?
Can you explain?
