Then there's reality. Trump often stated that Mexico would pay for the wall and not just figuratively or "indirectly". It was a really despicable plan to coerce them. But that's how the mind of a bully with the maturity of a 12-year-old works.
It's remarkable how far removed from reality Trump supporters can be.

What was posted was BS; Trump has not asked Congress for any such power. And he has not done a single thing in the memo despite talking about what he would do on "Day 1".
You are gullible beyond belief.

1) The fact is Trump stated that Mexico would pay for the wall and not just figuratively or "indirectly". You and kmax scoffed at this idea. You guys are clueless.
2) The fact is Trump's "plan" was to coerce the Mexican Government into making a "“a one-time payment of $5-10 billion” - which is basically the same as "cutting a check"
3) The fact is Trump's coercion was based on a threat to cut off the flow of billions of dollars in payments that Mexican immigrants send home to the Mexico by changing a rule under the USA Patriot Act anti-terrorism law.
4) The fact is such a plan is immoral if not illegal. It boils down to extortion via a threat to steal the money of Mexican immigrants.
5) The fact is as such, it wasn't a viable plan. The plan was not only not viable, it's despicable.
In a nutshell, Trump kept saying that Mexico was going to pay for building the wall. When pressed for details, his "plan" was not only not viable, it was despicable. People who voted for Trump and support him are either willfully ignorant or intellectually dormant.

Trump made a campaign promise. We all know what campaign promises are worth. Remember "read my lips, no new taxes"? As with so many campaign promises in the past, this one will most likely never come to fruition, and certainly not as originally intended. Either the wall will never be completed, or the Mexicans won't pay for it, or both.
