Remember last time Trump was president and he decided not to govern but instead to play 261 rounds of golf over 428 vacation days in Mar-A-Lago? In so doing, he didn't even come close to fixing the border issue, the deficit doubled, and he was left with his pants down during a global pandemic.
Ok, but he should do that again. That's the best possible thing.
We have a growing, healthy economy, inflation on its way down, deficits on their way down, low unemployment. Coming out of the pandemic, the USA has done better economically than almost every other nation on earth. All that changes once we start the tariffs and the deportations and firing federal employees. All economists say that these things would raise inflation, stall GDP, create a large group of unemployed Americans, and increase tax burdens on small business.
Really, Trump is going to mess with something that's going well, take ownership over making changes to a healthy economy? Nah. He can just coast, take to twitter and whine that the libs are blocking him, that others in government won't let him do what he promised to do. Its better for Trump than succeeding in his policy goals.
Trump can do nothing and come out better for it.

@wildgrass saidit is very satisfying seeing you come apart like this 😂

@wildgrass saidThat's right. If he does NOTHING that he campaigned on, we might be ok. 😆

@wildgrass saidHe wants people in charge of the departments he wants to bring down to be the worst at that job, specifically to bring them down.
Right well I don't see anything that indicates other than his existing resume suggests.
Now he seems to be purposefully hiring incompetent unproductive people for high cabinet positions.
Last time, he managed to replace the Board of Governors with yes-men so that they would approve of firing the prior Postmaster General, who was a woman who was doing a good job, in order to put a CEO in charge of the US Postal Service who is now in the position of ruining the Postal Service, and he's doing exactly that. He's ruining this fine organization, full of good, hard-working federal employees, which pays for itself with no federal budgetary support, so that Americans get tired of the service and want it either dismantled or privatized. Four months back, he decided that we could save money by shipping all the US Mail around the country by truck, instead of by plane. Who cares if it takes a week or more to get your Mom's Mother's Day card to her? The American people care. We used to have local overnight delivery standards. No more. We used to have a three-day delivery standard for First-class mail going to another state. No more. You're now lucky if it takes a week for your letter to get from coast to coast, because it's all trucked now instead of flown. Good job, Postmaster General DeJoy. We'll be lucky to even have a Postal Service by the time Trump leaves office (if he ever does).
@Suzianne saidIt won't be possible to enforce tariffs without the commerce department or to deport 10 million illegals without the DOJ.

These agencies won't do anything. Trump will blame the libs for his failures. MAGA will believe him.
@wildgrass saidDon't get me wrong.

I fervently WISH Trump will do nothing.
It's the best case scenario.
But I also understand how much he wants retribution for what he sees as persecution. It's all about him, don't you know. He won't 'do nothing', sadly.
@Suzianne saidIt's in his best interest to do nothing though. As with COVID, his biggest fear is getting blamed for creating a disaster.

Deporting millions of farm workers, blanketing the country in new taxes, is going to wreck a strong economy.
