"As winter weather pummels Texas with snow, ice and freezing temperatures, Houston businessman "Mattress Mack" is opening his doors to those in need once more.
Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale first went viral in 2017 when Hurricane Harvey struck Houston. McIngvale opened some of his Gallery Furniture stores during the storm, turning them into evacuation shelters."
The second texan fled to Mexico with his family (he has a lot of money too) during a pandemic even though he was an elected official who should have set an example.

South of the border......
Down Mexico way.
Ted Cruz ought to be ashamed.
Well done to that Houston businessman.
Cometh the hour cometh the man and that man is not Ted Cruz.
stood up to trump
how does trump do it?
how does he turn spines into jello?
@phil-a-dork saidcalled trump a sniveling coward
@lemondrop
I forgot he used to be anti Trump. 🤔
@instantkarma777 saidTrump has 74 million enablers who do his bidding.
It begs the bigger question what has Trump got on all these people?
Why did they not convict him?
He must have some serious sh** on all these Republican politicians.
@lemondrop saidhe only "stood up" to trump when there was still a chance he could win. He has been tripping over his feet to appease him ever since he lost the primary just for a chance the share some of the crumbs of power falling from Trump's table

@instantkarma777 saidthey simply do not want to anger his base and lose their votes. Their math probably tells them they absolutely need Trump's retards and that not enough reasonable republicans will finally switch to democrats

@moonbus saidthat's true sometimes but this case it doesn't apply. The first texan started his company with 5k dollars and he has daycare centres in his funiture stores. Highschool classes for his employees to get diplomas and learn trades, gives furniture donations to people in need. He is a good human being both in times of crisis and otherwise.
@Zahlanzi
Crisis brings out the best and the worst in people, not only in Texans.
The other texan has been a self serving weasel with absolutely no conscience since forever. Crisis or no crisis.
@instantkarma777 saidI think a lot are afraid of trump

for their own safety
trump could mobilize thousands of these freaks who would be willing to kill and die for him
it is truly frightening
I never realized just how fragile our democracy is
now we all know

@instantkarma777 saidAgreed. Cruz forked up here. But this all is really a compassionista issue, aka a democrat issue, and as a Repub, he is not worried so much about losing democrats
