The article is horrible, but even a moron can see what he is seeing.
For example, he gives the followibng as a reason for not attacking Iran:
"Iran has a natural affinity with the Shia majority of Iraq, and has been implacably opposed to al-Qaeda,"
That arguement is a joke. Shia and Sunni extremists tend to not get along. So what? Would be a fine ar n. Airstrikes are more likely, which is fine with me. I'm not a big fan af nation builiding.

As for their human rights reputation, I have never been an advocate of using physical pressures to change a countries humam rights record. That's usually better left to soft power, diplomacy. There are exceptions, such as Rowanda or Darfur. It wouldn't keep me up at night it the Phrench sent troops into Darfur.

If you don't want your troops killed, don't invade other countries. It's ridiculous whining about the weapons people are using against the most well armed military in the history of the world.
