@vivify saidIs that you, Sonhouse?
Reagan "killed" Obama...by being placed one single solitary rank above him...out of 46?
Maybe Trump lost out because of personality.
Or his two impeachments in the same term, inciting a riot on the Capitol building, being caught lying about a global pandemic, shutting down the government for the longest time in U.S. history, making over 30,000 false statements, ...[text shortened]... ding with Russia over U.S. intelligence on national TV....
Oh wait, you were trying to be clever.
Yes I do feel humor is important when up against the tides of emotion from 'the other side'. That's why I posted the most-fun video Car Jack. One of your brothers plays the lead in this one. Has to be a good reason for what he does, we need to send him some money. None of the 8M jobs suits him? I dont know, you tell me.
I figure him for a libertarian. He CAN'T be socialist, as their modus operandi is to give money to these people, and his deal is to take it. What do you think?
@no1marauder saidOh nonsense Lincoln's support in congress was weak at best, a LOT of republicans hated him and talked about impeachment as the war drug on, as well as the general public in the Northern states. . Lincoln fully expected to be impeached until the war turned towards the end.
History is certainly not a right wing strongpoint.
There was zero possibility of Lincoln being impeached by the Republican Congress when the CSA traitors started the war and his conduct of that war, the most seminal threat to the US ever, rates him as one of our greatest Presidents with only FDR as serious competition.

@dood111 saidCould you point to anywhere in the article that supports the idea that the Republican Congress ever almost supported impeachment of Lincoln as you claimed?

Thanks in advance.
Lincoln faced no serious opposition in his own party for re-nomination and won the general election fairly comfortably. He got 55% of the vote and carried 22 of 25 States.
