THE US has banned Vegemite, even to the point of searching Australians for jars of the spread when they enter the country.
The bizarre crackdown was prompted because Vegemite has been deemed illegal under US food laws.
The great Aussie ic ...[text shortened]... aid.
Banned because it contains folic acid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folic_acid)?
Does it taste good?

NOTE: I admit it seems like the first report was wrong but frankly I blame the media for reporting the incorrect story.

Presumab;y this is because you are incapable of expressing the gist of an argument or set of opinions in your own words.
In Livingstone whenever cheap farm products (such as eggs) start getting imported from across the border from Zimbabwe, the local farmers get together and have a chat with the local veterinarian and get the importation banned on medical grounds. This doesn't stop the massive amount of smuggling, but at least smuggled goods cost a bit more.
Goods coming from Zimbabwe tend to be cheaper because:
1. The economy is in major trouble.
2. Exchange controls resulted in unbalanced exchange rates.
3. The EU has in the past been providing a lot of assistance to Zimbabwean agriculture (I don't know why)
