Virginia county admits election tally in 2020 shorted Joe Biden

MANASSAS, Va. (AP) — A northern Virginia county is acknowledging that it underreported President Joe Biden’s margin of victory over Donald Trump there in the 2020 presidential election by about 4,000 votes, the first detailed accounting of errors that came to light in 2022 as part of a criminal case.

An "election integrity unit" formed by a Republican state AG with the explicit intent of proving Trump right are the ones who found Biden was actually shorted votes.

Great job, guys.

You're actually helping the Trump narrative.

Virginia was not a super-tight race, so this particular mistake didn't matter much. But if one county in Virginia can mess the tally up by 4,000 votes, that at least makes it more plausible that enough counties in Pennsylvania and Arizona did so in the other direction.

What the heck?

The trump narrative is that the election was rigged and stolen by deep state actors, not that mistakes occurred.

Yeah all they have to do is produce the evidence, that’s all the insurrectionists have ever been asked to do
But it proves the lie that there was a nationwide conspiracy to swap out and plant votes for Biden to be exactly that, a big fat lie by the big fat insurrectionist

If mistakes on that kind of scale can occur, then the election system isn't as foolproof and reliable as we think.

Come on, folks. This isn't that hard.

I think the 2020 election was clearly legitimately won by Biden.

Still, that a mistake of 4,000 votes was made in one county does not inspire confidence in the system. It's not enough to question the results of the election, but it certainly doesn't help.

It's so interesting how people become emotional and deliberately obtuse on this issue.

I’m not emotional about anything, I’m British, and certainly not US elections, I gave up on them when I figured out how undemocratic it is regardless of fraud or tabulation errors
But the fact is that mistakes are not what the big lie is based on, it’s based on a liberal deep state stealing the election from Donald Trump
I get that this distinction will mean very little to the magical MAGA crowd but us muggles should still ground ourselves in reality.

Very logical post. But 2020 election denial is not based on logic. If it was the denials wouldn't exist.

The more these right-wingers keep investigating the more they end up proving Trump was wrong.

That's not the trump narrative.

Nor do these results suggest anything that questions the reliability of the outcome.

Even let's say.

It certainly doesn't help the narrative that the election system is foolproof.

You told the truth sh76. Don't you know how unpopular it is to challenge a political bias? The irony is he wants to believe the election can screw over one side while denying it can the other side. You need to remember that theses same people that claimed Trump colluded with Russia to steal the election from Hilary changed their story to it is impossible to steal elections in our democracy of perfection.

They went from likely to impossible as soon as Trump alleged election fraud.
They forgot Hillary claimed Trump stole the election from her real fast.
You are challenging their changing narrative. They see you like Zionist Jews see anti Zionist Jews, like traitors. How dare you defend the other side.

Do you see what I have been dealing with all these years? I have been called Putin's puppet I don't know how many times. Some with much more resentment. One poster said I was sucking Putin's dick. You have no idea how much people hate the truth.
