Walz Record
1.Allowed the riots to go completely out of control. An entire police Precinct burned and still not replaced. 120 buildings torched, $500 million in damage. Highways blocked, cars overturned, countless businesses broken into and looted or vandalized. Did not call in the National Guard or allow police to take control until it was too late. Police were not allowed to wear riot gear, as it “looked too combative”. 2. Locked down state excessively during pandemic. Had a tip line for citizens to call in and report offenders. Example: children playing outside. 3. Churches were closed. Small businesses were closed. Liquor stores were open. Walz’s radical AG was waiting to pounce on and prosecute any small business owner who dared open their doors. 4. Minnesota had the largest fraud of pandemic money in US. 5. Overtaxed and squandered a record 18 billion dollar budget surplus, after promising to return it to taxpayers. 6. Allowed protestors to storm US interstate, and falsely stated semi driver ( releasing his identity on TV) intended to cause injury to protestors. 7. Created a situation where doctors and patients could not get to hospitals. 8. Allowed armed BLM thugs to take over part of Minneapolis and establish encampment that lasted for months, only ending when they were paid off with taxpayer money. 9. Excessive restrictions and endless permit requirements have caused new businesses to give up and choose other states to build in, and existing businesses to relocate. 10. Propose and pass excessively restrictive “green deal” laws. 11. Excessive controls on for example, copper mining on Iron Range. 12. The most extreme abortion allowance in US. (Most Citizens do NOT favor abortion up to time of delivery unless medically necessary ). 13. Excessive mandates to school districts on how money can be spent, and curriculum that must be taught. A radical Leftist curriculum at that. 14. Created an environment (“defund the police&rdquo😉, putting citizens at risk. 15. Created a “sanctuary state” for young minors wanting irreversible gender altering surgery. 16. Allow school districts to not inform parents if children want to use “alternative pronouns” in school. Compelling alternative pronouns through sex harassment laws. 17. Allowed a small panel to decide on and change our state flag. 18. Minnesota is now considered one of the worst states for business. 19. Minnesota has now fallen to 19th in education under his watch and less than have our children can now read or perform math at grade level in spite of academic standards being lowered. 20. Since Walz took office there has been over $500 million in fraud and not one state employee has been fired or held accountable. 21. He forced all state employees to get the Covid vaccinated or lose their jobs. 22. His policies have put tampons in boy’ bathrooms, biological males in girl’s restrooms, locker rooms, and on their sports teams. 23. He signed the bill that gave Minnesota drivers licenses to any illegal alien who applies for it. 80,000 qualify and could vote with that license with no one the wiser. 24. Wants to make Minnesota a sanctuary state for illegals. 25. Taxpaying Minnesotans are fleeing the state in ever greater numbers. 26. Recent Walz Quote: “one man’s socialism is another man’s neighborliness.“ 27. “Retired” from the National Guard just before his unit was activated and deployed to the Middle East. 28. Refuses to be interviewed by any non Leftist media outlet. 29. During the last Governor’s election the state medical board (for which the Governor appoints all 17 members), opened a malpractice investigation into Walz’s opponent who is a doctor. The investigation was somehow leaked to the media, crushing his opponents election chances. The “investigation” quietly disappeared with no action after the election.

Actually Walz is fairly popular in Minnesota, and has a strong record of getting policies enacted. He was handily reelected in 2022. And the murder of George Floyd happened in Minneapolis. It would have been impossible to keep a lid on civil unrest when that occurred, but the National Guard was called in only (yes, only) 3 days after it started.

Hindsight is 20/20, but calling in the troops when there is unrest on the streets is generally not a decision to be taken lightly. It can make a situation that otherwise would have fizzled out over time explode with tremendous violence. In this case, the police made serious mistakes that the governor had no ability to control (and I don't mean the murder of Floyd).

A lot of your cut/paste job contains absurd right-wing talking points that have already been discredited.

I file this thread, along with so many others now, under "Republicans have nothin' on Walz."

MAGA Republicans are already trying to define Walz as “far left,” his votes in Congress put him pretty squarely in the middle. His work with Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan to expand technology production and infrastructure funding in the state was rewarded in 2023, when Minnesota knocked Texas out of the top five states for business. The CNBC rating looked at 86 indicators in 10 categories, including the workforce, infrastructure, health, and business friendliness.

There is more:
https://www.minnpost.com/education/2024/06/minnesota-drops-to-19th-in-national-education-ranking-due-to-low-test-scores/

As noted in your cut/paste hack job, Minnesota ranks 19th in K-12 education in the nation. But, you understand there are 50 states in the union, right? So 19 out of 50 is still comfortably above the average.

Also, that ranking dates back to 2022. In 2022 Minnesotan voters kicked enough Republicans out of the legislature to give control to the Democrats (technically the DFL), who then wasted no time working to increase funding for education that was sorely lacking when Republican whiners were standing in its way.

Because, you see, a governor is not all-powerful, and must work with a legislature. I hope you understand this, and thank you for your consideration. I eagerly await your next marching orders from Fox News.

The 2024 Data Book, which tracks data from the 2021-2022 school year, ranked Minnesota high in some categories including ranking sixth in economic well-being, seventh in health and and seventh in family and community.

You can't post a wall of text with no source and then say "prove me wrong".

If you put forth a claim you have to support it. That's how debate works.

You mean aside from the obvious message that every bad thing that happens in the state of Minnesota is somehow the direct fault of its governor?

Remind me, how fast did Trump act when the mob was storming the Capitol building? Oh, that's right, no one could reach him, because he was too busy watching the fruits of his incitement to riot on the television.

Trump offered to have National guard there but guess who refused?

You might want to read your own link carefully, because you do not seem to have done so, and it does not help your case. One example from the article, though it does not capture everything:
The post is wrong: Security at the 1.5 million-square-foot U.S. Capitol building does not fall solely to the speaker. Though Pelosi does have a role in the hierarchy overseeing security, there is no indication she controls its day-to-day operations.

Never mind the fact that Pelosi might have been a little busy fleeing for her life that day.

Jesus, just read it.

The bottom line is that Trump, as commander-in-chief, had the authority to call in military reinforcements in the district, and he failed to do so. He was inexplicably incommunicado, probably because he wanted to see if a coup could succeed.

EDIT: For Christ's sake, Trump dragooned troops into Washington DC to confront a largely peaceful Black Lives Matter protest in the summer of 2020, but when a bunch of fukkin' rednecks are storming the goddamn Capitol building he sits on his orange ass in front of the TV with a bag of Cheetos.

His record was so "shameful" the voters in Minnesota elected him by about an 8 point margin and flipped the State Senate giving the Democrats control of both Houses of the State Legislature as well.

I certainly hope the voters nationwide react the same way.

Truth hurts to those who choose to ignore it or explain his actions away. Shameful.
