I don't know that it would be possible to have both a "nice" and a "long" trip with Mike . One or the other , maybe .

I dont know. I miss the guy though. He always brought action to the forums. At first I thought he was just a nutjob. With time, I understood that if you read in between the lines, he would make sense..... most of the time, at least. He's not exactly the easiest person to understand.

I'd love to come over all sentimental and reflective about his absence, but unfortunately I couldn't give a rat's ass.

Shall we send him one, SH? I'm sure I can find one somewhere around the farm. If I hold the 12 ga. steady maybe the rat's ass will be all that's left.

Yes indeed, Del. I also have a tinker's cuss, but for some strange reason I find myself unable to produce that, either.

It's not a "Tinker's Damn" , as in a cobbler cursing . It's a "Tinker's Dam" , which is an impermanent hastily made device to temporarilly block the flow of another material during an artistic or crafting process . Being disposable and common , it is of little value . So you could make your own and send it to him .

Which is lovely, but since the etymological origin is indeterminate and cursing is indeed one of the two possible explanations, my wings are like a shield of steel to your snark.
