Besides, I don't think the issue is the revenue of a small business. Surely for a business 250k worth of revenue is on the small end, but I thought the issue was individual earnings.

250k is chump change for a small business because if you have 4 employees and you pay them each 50k, then your left with 50k for yourself (minus every not employee based business expense).

But if you've got a 250k salary, I'd say your living a pretty sweeat-ace life.

Yet they don't think about the consequences of their actions. For instance, the Great Society programs, initiated by Democrats in the 1960s were designed to eliminate poverty -- however, 40+ years and trillions of dollars later, tens of millions more people are worse off than if they'd never heard of JFK or LBJ.

Everyone can have a small business on the side and be an employee to someone else also.
Most people don'i want to be self employed for one reason or another. they will be the employees.
Many, many small business owners don't have employees and do all the work themselves. And i'm not talking shining shoes.
$250k gross salary minus all taxes, considering most small business owners work At Least 14hrs/day (Trust me) == CHUMP CHANGE!
